Uforce 800 rad clog
« on: April 26, 2020, 10:34:08 PM »
I bought a 2020 uforce 800 new. I have read here of rad relocation because of rad clogging. What is this all about? I ask because on a paved, uphill grade today in 90s temp going 45 mph the temp guage went to 4 marks. This alarmed me as my 2017 zforce 800 never did this.

New they will run a little warmer until fully broke in...and long periods of sustained higher RPMs will always produce more heat especially as lean as these are running. Being in AZ I can't believe you have been doing any "Southern-style mudd'n". All machines will get their radiators plugged with mud when in their stock location. It just depends on how much you do, how deep you go and what type of mud it is. Just harder to plug-up mounted high. Just make sure the radiator is clear and full to the top with coolant..ie no air gaps.

Thank you for your reply. I usually look way too deep into things and didn't realize it was for mudding. I saw "overheat" and "radiator clogging" and panicked. I spent cash + trade in for it and thought the worst. "Mudding" in the Sonoran desert foothills is usually less than 3" deep and 2' long.
