Oil pressure gauge vs switch
« on: June 12, 2020, 03:22:38 PM »
In the continuing sage of the oil pressure switch, another question occurs. I  can install a "t" foe both the switch and electric guage sending unit. Is there any reason and/or ramifications to permanently leaving the switch out and just having the electric gauge? Will it confuse the computer? Void the warranty? Cause rivers to flow backwards?

As it is just a warning light and the ECM doesn't use it's input for anything it won't matter to operations ...however as it is a factory installed warning system, having it disabled may well be excuse enough to void any warranty remaining regarding the engine and especially oil pressure-related failures. I think if it were me and I still has a warranty, I wouldn't want to do anything that would give them a way out...especially considering how many have has problems with oil pressure these days.

Got all the parts. Found out it would not work putting both sensors on. Screw it, just put the good sensor on and installed the guage. Very happy with it. Put a video on Youtube if anyone is interested. I apprecate all the help I get here.

That is the video. Got a snorkel project video on that channel also. My family has been here since 1971 and I've been here since 87'. It's grown quite a bit but still like it here.
