Neutral light not functioning
« on: April 07, 2025, 06:27:52 AM »
Hi,

My neutral light on my dashboard does not work. All the other functions like Park/reverse/ High and Lo are working fine.

Anybody an idea what the problem can be? Defect LED in the dashboard?

Hope someone can help me out! ☺️

It's pretty rare when an LED goes bad...but its pretty common for a gear position selector switch to go bad in any CFM. It just had points on each LED ground that makes contact with a spot on the drum as it rotates. The points or buttons wear or break off sometimes. Just pull it and take a look. With the rest working I suspect the drum is OK. The other thing it might be is the connector on that switch had got some water in it and corroded one contact. Check it too.If all is well..it might be a bad LED or board but check everything else first.

Is it possible to change the sensor or do i have to let the oil out first?

It's probably high enough on the case but pick the front end up some to be sure. I forget where it is exactly on the case. It will look like this:

Hi,

I changed the sensor, checked all connectors but with no result.

How can I check the light of the computer/dashboard?

But a broken LED is not very common right?

IF all the other gear indicators work, go to the pod's wiring, ID the neutral light's grounding lead going to the sensor and with a probe ground it with the key on. If the problem is within the pod, it won't light up. But if the problem is between the pod and the sensor, it will light up. Has this machine sat many hours with the key on and in neutral?
