I have a lightly used CFMOto U force 800. 

last fall due to major brake master cylinder failure the unit sat in the dealership for almost a month.  that was at about 750kms total use.
Within a couple weeks of that, CFMoto decided to offer me through the dealership a 1 month bumper to bumper coverage as a good will offer for lost month of riding. 

that was nice of them the wife said.
Within a week of that offer we noticed the rear shoicks were lightly leaking following a dusty ride.

CFMoto says that they will replace one of 2 rear shocks for us but not both

900 kms on a set factory shocks before leaking doesnt seem like a lot of use and definately does nothing to instill confidence in a product.

has anyone else noticed the shocks do not hold up on the Uforce and have you replaced these defective or leaking shocks with new OEM's or something better.

If you replaced them with something better what did you go with and what was the best price you have found.

In the early days of the Z800s, lots of people had issues with the CFM shocks...breaking, leaking, bending, springs rubbing...ect. Less now but I gota say...I wouldn't pay good money to replace a CFM shock with...another CFM shock. In fact, I plan on replacing mine with Elka or Fox as soon as the wallet lets me.

So I to have a Uforce 800, while mine is not "lightly used" I do not beat it . I carry around 80lbs of extra cargo ( tools, gas and coolers) its got around 2800km on it . I notice'd that awhile back one of the yellow bump stops on my shock was right on top of my shock while the other was at the top of the shock . lately I have found that my ride is very soft to the point that my tires are hitting the box!. Now I see that the other yellow bump stop is on top of the shock . So I had to take pictures for the dealer and send km and ser number. So he gets back to me with the same info , " cfmoto will cover one shock"  . Seems a little odd to me , they admit there might be a problem so they'll cover half  ( one shock )
Just thought I would pass along , have a look at your shocks , maybe you can catch a bad shock before both are blown .

It also sounds like your springs are collapsing..like many other CFM's. Sounds like yours works for a living so maybe it would be best to upgrade to something that can take the ...load...so to speak.

Both my shocks at the rear were leaking and replaced by CFM; no questions asked.
The also changed my head brake pump; it could not hold the pressure.
Till now no problems with CFM; in Europe we have a 2 year warranty.

just installed the new replacement shocks from the dealer, they are still the stock shocks . However the yellow bump stop is now different, theres no way for it to slide over the shock now . if I can ever figure out how to put pictures on this form I will post them . And your right , I really need to upgrade but right now its the cheaper way to go. Will upgrade probably down the road .
