Hello, New to Forum, when riding my UFORCE 800, machine will die without any ryme or reason. Cranking it will not restart till you hear the fuel pump or fuel injection. Then sometimes dies right after it starts. Been to dealer and can't get it die. Has anyone had the same issues or ideas to fix? TIA

mine does the same when trying to move slow like backing out of the garage or moving thru the trees when getting fire wood im due for my first service going to see if the warranty will cover it if not going to buy the z8 ecu  people on the forum say fixes it right up im not going fight with them im just going to fix it other than that I really like the machine

Yes, there have been some issues with the UForce's ECMs I would double check all the electricak connections..including the main 30 amp fuse holder as they also have been known to have bad internal crimps. If all is good, then try a ZForces ECM. Keep in mind that much of the EFI's system is low voltage and that if there is a bad connector, it won't show it like a burning or heated 12 volt connector. Look very closely and all the pins and receivers for a bent one.

I have taken to dealer but of course it never happens for them..  Does anyone have the ECM part number that I need to Purchase after I check these other ideas??  TIA

But I would double check all other possibilities first..they aren't cheap...

My Zforce does this randomly, always slow speed and reversing. It always starts back up though. It does it less than when it was new

Yeah mine has always done this when I put it in to reverse then touch the gas. Not always..but most often. Always starts right back up. After I clean the air temp sensor it stops for a while..sometimes many months. Then when it starts happening again I pull the sensor and find air filter oil on it. Clean it again and it's all good again...for a while. I started squeezing that Unifilter with some paper towels after oiling to get any excess out. Seems to help...but it did do it once on our last trip. The sensor hasn't been cleaned sense last year though.

Could you tell me where the Temp Sensor is located on it? I obviously would like to go the inexpensive way before purchasing a ECM. TIA

Its the only sensor on the intake track. On the Zs it's center, top on the cross-over section.

I had the same problem with my 2017 , it would die for no reason . Sometimes I would here the fuel pump , sometimes I wouldn't. I downloaded the wiring diagram and traced out all wiring . I finally traced it to a wiring harness but had no idea where is was . I ended up taking it to the dealer and explained to them what I did and showed them on the diagram where the harness was . I got a call the next day saying they found the problem in the connector pin ,was corroded . They cleaned it up and haven't had the problem again . The connector is located behind  the drivers seat and is pretty big and is tucked down low. I think its the harness that comes out of the ECU. Hope that helps .

It's right on top of the "Y" tube between the two cylinders just past the Throttle Body.
