2021 UForce 800 Throttle and Engine Cutting Off Issue
« on: October 05, 2020, 09:51:26 AM »
Hello everyone, I need some insight on a few issues I am having with my 2021 UForce 800. I recently purchased a 2021 UForce 800 last Tuesday (9/28/2020) and was able to drive it and experience the side x side for the first time at my camp this past weekend. I found a few issues that concerned me and I am reaching out to see if anyone has experienced this as well.

1.) The first problem that I ran across is the turn radius is horrible on this thing, a F-250 turns sharper than this side x side, trust me I compared them this past weekend. Is there a way to allow for a better turn radius?

2.) When going I was trail riding I noticed that the throttle is very sensitive, during a standstill take off it jerks really bad, almost feels like the side by side was running out of fuel (The side x side had a fuel tank), then when going through the trails i noticed hitting a bump or pot hole it would do the same thing. Is there a way to adjust the throttle response or pedal sensitivity on this side x side?

3.) After driving the for a good hour or hour and a half I went to shift from H to L gear and the side x side died on me but cranked right back up. Stopped and took a break let the side x side cool off, and then started riding again. Same thing happened, so I took another break let the side x side cool off. The third time I went out riding the side x side did it again, so this time I just said screw it and loaded the side x side up on the trailer and went home. Has anyone had this issue or know of a way it can be fixed?

I know I should bring it to the dealer since I have a 5yr warranty but due to my work schedule its extremely hard to bring the side x side over there.

Welcome. Not sure I can answer all your question especially on the 2021s as there have been some changes to some systems.

In Question #1, Not to my knowledge. The turning radius on both the Z and U Forces over the years has always been wider then most any other with no adjustment. I thought adjusting the stops but after a look at mine it looks like the stops are built into the rack itself so..SOL there.

On #2, historically, both the Z and Us throttle peddles have had two problems. 1-that the spring pressure is too light and causes the driver to have to hold his/her foot up while driving. This fetuqes the foot as well as makes the throttle bounce on every bump and at take off. The cure has been to increase the peddle return spring pressure. The other issue is that they were miss-adjusted from the factory with not enough free play. This also makes the TB butterfly move with every flex of the frame as it pulls on the cable. Easy to adjust though.

And on #3, there can be several issues that cause that but the dealer is better equipped to track that down. Some have even been ECU-related. I can say for mine, it will just die but start right back up when I go from any great to reverse and touch the gas if the mass airflow/ temp sensor gets coated with air filter oil. Once this starts happening I pull it out, spray it down with the proper cleaner, reinstall it and that issue stops..for many hundreds of miles sometimes. I can't understand the connection but...it's there...somewhere.  Hope you find your issue.

I have a 2021 800 cforce with the same jerky, stumbling at under 3200 rpm. It's been at the dealer twice with no fix. Some times it dies when just touching the throttle. Please let me know if yours gets better.

Same exact 3 issues here. I chalked it up to - this is what we get for a 12k machine. Will be trying the return spring trick however
