I have a new to me 2013 U600 Rancher that was handed down to me last year. I'm new to the forum, so I tried doing a little research but didn't find a couple of things I'm needing answers for.

I'll focus on the immediate problem - what is the light on the dashboard in the lower right corner that is lit up red? I can't find a graphic or image that looks like my dash from researching the interwebs.

Second question is why would the Reverse light be lit up in addition to neutral? No matter how I try to position the shifter, it will not kill the Reverse light. I'm thinking these 2 things are related, and with both lit up, the unit will not start and all I hear is something clicking. Battery is charged up and good. If I put power to the starter directly (go around solenoid) you can hear the starter wanting to turn over. Wired correctly through the solenoid, it only wants to click when you turn the key to start.

Thoughts? Suggestions? I truly appreciate your time.

Welcome. Let's start with the gear position leds. All CFMs use gear selector indicator switch that provides a ground to any of the gear position lights in the dash. Depending on the position of the shifter drum in the transmission, it simply makes a ground connection to a wire corresponding to the LED light needed. The fact that the Reverse stays on means that light is making ground somewhere either at or before that switch. It also means that the ECM thinks it's in a moving position...that is something other then Park or Neutral and that will require you to hold the brake on enough to power the brake lights to send power to the interlock relay to engage the starter. Need to find out where that LED is being grounded. IT MAY well be that the button on the tip of the switch is broken or warn off enough to make contact with the shifter drum all the time. Find and remove the position selector switch and inspect it. If you had the wiring diagram you could trace it. I have the 2015 Z wiring diagram and it wil likely have the same color codes for that as your does. Holler if you want it.

The lower right light although I can't see it well enough to be 100% sure, I think that will be your MIL light which is light the check-engine light on other EFI machines. Normally on CFMs that will be on until the engine is running with no EFI errors. So it should go off when you get it started.

Below is the gear selector switch/sensor for the U & Z 800s and is likely the same for the 600s. The sky blue wire will be the reverse ground wire.
