Keys

Has anybody copied there keys yet?  Are they all the same?  My tractor keys are generic, order them off ebay and they fit!  Do you have to buy CFmoto blanks?  I ask as Mc/atv/utv keys can be difficult to copy,  non standard blanks.
Thx

I don't know of anyone that has been able to just have copies made. Either they replace the entire switch and get two new keys or they order blanks or keys from CFM using some number.

There is another post about this that I will reply to also, but wanted to on this one because it was such a newer post.

I just purchased a 2022 CForce 400 and wanted to let people know about my success in finding replacement keys. The keys that came with my machine are part number 9DS#-010130-6000-0MP00 that is listed at this address: https://cfmotousaparts.com/product/key-blank-cfmoto-oem-9ds-010130-6000-0mp00/

I took my keys to a local lock smith (not just a clerk at the local hardware store that is in charge of the key machine for their shift) and after some stare and compare, they chose to use an Ilco KW14 - this is a link to a seller listing: https://keymateinc.com/shop-online/key-blanks/automotive-keys/motorcycle/ilco-x259-kw14-key-blank-kawasaki-suzuki-triumph-motorcycles-detail.html - they sold me a key for $6 with it being cut.

The first cut of the key wasn't perfect. There is a shoulder on the key that was kind of protruding near the handle, that, once ground off the next day, and the teeth smoothed out a bit, now works! It needs to be smoothed out a bit more for less of a need to fiddle with it, but it does the trick!

I hope someone finds this useful for spare keys for their machine.
