New owner, manual says use 89 octane. In my equipment I run non-ethanol 87 octane. So as to avoid fuel related problems, with fuel stabilizer, To get 89 octane I would have to use premium with ethanol. Even with fuel stabilizer I have had ethanol gas cause problems in small engines. What octane fuel do you use ?
Any problem running lower octane than specified ?

Usually I run 89-92 in mine... and all of ours has ethanol. I have run 87 with no issues but only in cooler weather when combustion chamber temps are a little lower. When it's hot I'm looking for the highest octane I can find..which here is only 92. But I'm sure you will be fine with the 87 non-ethanol.

I only run 91 octane non ethanol in my uforce, my mercury optimax on my nitro, and all of my lawnmowers and power tools...  everything except my 21 F250 with the 7.3... and just because it drinks a lot of fuel. I've never had an issue related to fuel.
