Anyone have one? Let's hear about it.
« on: January 13, 2016, 02:34:11 PM »
I'd like to hear from any owners of this unit. Tell me a bit about it. Power, speed, anything. I'm thinking this is what I want next, but? I like the potential reliability, spin on oil filter, and it probably runs cooler than the 800. Thanks.

It uses a filter element like the 800 and the canam's. They seem to share the same engine as the 500 ho. There are links and info on it in that tread.

Thanks, I thought it was a spin on filter.

Same element filter as the 800s.

55mph top speed. Plenty of power, not doggy at all. Though I have not run this hard as I have their other models, it does seem to run a bit cooler, but youre also talking about the obvious of less moving parts and one less piston, not to mention half the HP so naturally youll create less heat.

I've had a lot of good luck with the 500 H.O. engine between the Uforce and the CForce.

I bought a 2016 UForce 500 HO at Christmas 2015.....about 165 KM's on it so far....my son bought the same one as well....so far we are quite happy with the units....very good value for the included options on the new machines...we sprung for the roof, 1/2 windshield and front brush bar....still in the break-in period till about 250 km's then an oil change will be in order.....We bought the oil/filter kit from the dealership...consists of a spin-on filter and 3 liters of synthetic oil...will report back later with more info once we have a bit more usage logged on the machines.

I think they gave him the wrong filter. If the Uforce 500 uses the 191R engine than it is the same filter as the 800.

The repair manual shows a spin-on oil filter element....the owner's manual shows a cartridge element....something's not right here!!...they may have indeed provided the incorrect oil filter for that machine....however to be sure, I'll check the machine itself and report back.

Cosmosdan and swill are correct....the filter is indeed a cartridge type....dealership has been contacted....I will be exchanging the kit for the correct one tomorrow.

As for the filter itself, it is accessible through a 6"x6" hatch under the driver's seat....from your experience, is there anything I should know or any tips that would make the oil/filter change easier?

Thanks lads!!

The older 500 uses the spin on. They must be mixing them up somehow. I've worked on the canam engines and these seem very similar. I just clean the filter cover good so dirt doesn't get in there when pulling it off. I do use a skinny funnel with clear hose attached to it to fill.

I am still getting used to mine as it is only 1 month old with a whopping 27 Kms on it. Throttle response is a learning curve for me as it just replaced a Grizzly 660 that was half the weight however once it gets rolling it seems adequate. Low gear is awesome with tons of torque power. I have been respecting the break in recommendations so I'm sure that when I do hit the pedal hard it should lurch forward without a problem.

It is a totally different animal to drive than an ATV and very comfortable in the cockpit compared to some other SXS I have test driven. I believe that the windshield I have gives the impression of hardly moving when in fact I am going forward at a good pace. I was out today in 4 inches of fresh snow and it did not bother it at all. The tires are super aggressive and the power steering makes it feel like you are driving a car even in off road conditions and really appreciate that feature.

The only cons so far is that it is a bit noisier than an ATV and seems to REV higher to get it going but that could be due to the roof and windshield I have on trapping some of the engine noise. The other thing is getting used to the turning radius of these machines. A lot of 3 and 4 point turns required but still manageable. Most SXS are probably like this.

I already changed the gear and engine oils (winter weight) that was super easy to do. The only PITA was the removal and installation of the passenger seat but that only needs to be done infrequently. The other thing that I was surprised to find was 12 grease zerk on the suspension components but I guess that is a good thing?

Happy with the UTV so far!

I have had one (CF500uu) since February 2016 but only done about 220kms it's been invaluable on the property (14 acres) but it's always seemed a bit low in power but capable. It has been intermittently letting me down and I have to walk away and let it cool down before I can drive it again. I thought it was the transmission over heating as it is always heat related. Recently during some hot weather I have realised that the rear wheels spin but the fronts don't budge I jacked up the vehicle and tried to spin the front wheels and they are jammed. Seems the brakes are locking up when the vehicle gets warm and the ambient temp gets around 30c which is quite common. So it's time to rent a trailer and back to the dealer asap.
