I finally got around to adjusting the valves on the uforce. It's something I have done maybe twice in my life and now once on cfmoto. it seemed like all of the valves were too tight from the factory anyway, so I adjusted to about the middle of the suggested range. Now I have a noticeable ticking noise. Has anyone else done the valve adjustment that can chime in? I am just second-guessing my valve job but I really don't want to take it apart again the ones closest to the cab are a pain.

Frome 2023 uforce 1000/XL Owners Manual
Intake valve clearance (cold engine): .0.0024 in. ~ 0.0055 in. (0.06mm ~0.14mm)
Exhaust valve clearance (cold engine): .0.0043 in. ~ 0.0075 in. (0.11mm ~0.19mm)

Well if you hear ticking at least one is too loose. In time that ticking will peen the adjuster and valve end...and the roller will scuff the cam lobe. I would do it again. Make sure it hasn't run for at least 6 hours...has to be dead cold.. and that you are on TDC of the compression stroke on the cylinder you are working on. Can't do both of them at one time. Pull both plugs so you can rotate it by the primary clutch.

Thanks for the reply I was pretty sure I would be taking it back apart. I performed all the correct steps so I am not sure how I ended with a lose one it happens...

I had a similar problem the first time I did mine..did mine at 300 miles because of a ticking. Found some tight and some loose but it still ticked when done. Found it on the #1 cylinder so back apart it came. Checked them and all was well but when I checked the rollers one wouldn't spin. Worked it and flushed some metal bits out and spun it with a rubber wheel on a drill for a bit with oil until it spun easy. Sound wasn't there on the next start and has never come back. I have checked my valves three more time over the years and while there I always check that roller. It's been behaving well.

Hi,
We have 2022 uforce 1000 and was planning to check the valve clearances. I managed to do it for the back side cylinder but... the one closer to the cab is a real pain. I think at least one of the valve cover bolts cannot be opened without moving the engine or uninstalling lot of parts from the cab. Our vehicle has a dfk cabin on it but I do not know if that is the case. Any help/guidance appreciated how should I proceed and if the way to go is to move the engine backwards or uninstall required parts from the cab to be able to open the cover. Thanks in adv.

Should be able to remove enough cab plastics to get to the cover.
