Throttle issues
« on: May 19, 2022, 02:39:26 PM »
I have a new 2022 u force 1000 with 85 miles on it.  It is really jumpy when trying to drive it unless you have it floored.  I took to the dealer and they have told me two different solutions to correct this.  Both I would have to pay for as it is not covered under the extended warranty I bought.  1 is to have an aftermarket company flash and reprogram the ecu the other option is to put an aftermarket clutch kit in it.  Does anyone else have this issue?

There have been a number of 1000s with bad throttle control modules. Have them test it..or replace it. If that fixes the problem, tell them it's a warranty issue.

If the control module isn’t the issue an yes that’s a warranty issue so it should be tested first
Then those 2 options are your best options but yours being a 22 it should have normal an eco switch in it ? So you wouldn’t need an aftermarket reprogram they can just reflash to stock or order you a new stock one the eco mode should be pretty smooth on take off
Re clutching is super easy an cheap to do yourself 100$ At most for a spring an weights an some reclocking take you an hr or so

Also mine was jumpy after 100 or so miles cause the factory belt was shit which in the USA I believe a warranty issue with in 90 days
In Canada it’s a owner issue lol

Does anyone know where the ECU can be sent for a flash? I can’t stand my throttle response.

Thanks for the video. I was skeptical that it would actually change anything at all, just like when I wasted the $20 or whatever it was on a mode switch. But it looks like they actually have done something here. I think I'm going to take the chance and have it flashed. Hopefully it doesn't take too long to get it back, I use my machine every day.

I have a 2019. It did not come with a mode switch and the ECU is not programmed to accept one. So when I put the mode switch in all it does it change the icon on the dash. From what that video shows I think the folks a MSC might be able to solve this issue. We shall see if it works or if I should have just put the money in a paper shredder. I have faith though. I’ll post an update when I get it back.

I received my reprogrammed ECU from Main Street Cycle yesterday. I put it in the machine and much to my surprise there is a very noticeable difference in the throttle response. I could honestly care less about gaining torque and HP (but those gains are noticeable as well); I just needed the jumpy throttle issue corrected. Main Street Cycle did not disappoint. My wife finally enjoys driving and riding in the machine. If you don’t mind spending a little money, this is 100% worth it.
