Throttle control
« on: September 28, 2023, 06:59:16 PM »
New guy here with a 22 uforce 1000 ... im liking everything about it so far except the jerky throttle ... ive searched and read all the threads I could find on the subject with no real answer ... I have installed the RNG primary clutch kit which helped but still touchy ... it needs a stiffer peddle so it's not so easy to move is my thoughts ... any help would be much appreciated  .... right now I have a piece of high density foam under the peddle and it works great ... would prefer a real fix ... its OK to laugh 😃

Heck whatever works. Older ones like mine with the cable throttle were also too light on the spring but it was just a matter of giving the peddle spring another wind. These new ones have that inside the module. Maybe it can be taken apart and.."Adjusted". :)  I hear...they fixed that issue in the 2023s with an updated throttle module. Wonder if they actually did and if it would fit the 22s...Hmm. :)

According to RNG the 23's are better but not cured ... I did read about stretching or adding a heavier spring but they didn't think the plastic housing would stand it very long.
I appreciate the quick response

Just coming in here just saw this thread. I have a 2024 with 5 hours on it and have noticed very jerky throttle. So apparently problem has not been addressed . I like the foam I'm gonna try that. Had anyone come up with anything else ? Thanks all

I have about 3000 miles on my 2023 and the throttle was one of my top complaints. After I got a feel for the throttle I can control it much better. I still get the occasional jerkiness but it isn't one of my top complaints anymore. My daughter has a trick where she places half of her shoe on the pedal and the other half on the ledge beside the pedal to help control the pressure she applies it seems to work. I do like the foam idea for a simple fix

I have worked on this problem since day one ... I finally sold my 22 because of it ... I', going to try a 24 but sounds like the same OLD problem ... this is really the only complaint I have with the Uforce 1000 ...
Some things that have helped for me are .... The foam as pictured .... some are using a washing heavy foam washing pad to pretty thing up a bit ... I'll try and post a couple of pictures of helpers ... The bungie strap worked great (two of them) just a little red neck .... The spring works good but I had to build a bracket hooked to the throttles top bolt to hold the spring ..... The problem is in the electronics of the throttle.. it is to sensative and I think would be and easy fix for a otherwise great machine.

I have read where they are attaching a piece of 2x4 to the side of the tunnel to rest their foot ... I can see where this would help .... They just need to fix the problem ... I can hardly get my wife to drive ours because of it ... (keep in mind that we are 74 tho ;) )

Has anyone tried the clutch replacement from main Street cycles that claims to eliminate the touchy throttle ? Thanks for any feedback. Did it work ?

I installed this kit in my 2021 U-force 1000 which cured the touchy throttle.

I installed a clutch kit during the first 100 miles. I can't say how big the difference was because I didn't have much comparison time and it was 3k miles ago.
I feel like it did help some but it was not the 100% cureall I had seen discussed around the web.
