Ordered a Clutch Kit
« on: April 19, 2023, 11:56:34 AM »
Couldn't stand the Jerky Ride anymore. 2023 Uforce is almost uncontrollable on rough terrain.  It had improved some over 120 miles from brand new a  little but not enough. I ordered a clutch kit from RNG. I will post my results since it seems allot of people have the issue.

I just installed mine a few weeks back.  I too ordered mine from RNG.  It wasn't hard at all except for the left-hand threaded 33mm? nut was a B*TCH to break lose.  My 1/2" 18V Milwaukee Impact wouldn't touch it so I had to crank up my 60-gallon compressor and get my Nitrocat 1/2" Impact out.  That nut wouldn't break free for the life of me.  I was terrified I was doing it wrong, watched the video over and over.  Finally, I said the hell with it and just kept the impact on it for 15-20 seconds (which felt like forever) and it finally broke free.  After that, it was a breeze!  The only other issue was the bolt on the plastic cover closet to the front of the vehicle was kind of a pain to reach even with an extension and swivel.

It did make a noticeable difference after installed!  I'm debating on doing the ECU tune via Main Street Cycle as well

So you did it yourself Bonds? Im really not that mechanically inclined but i to watched the video and thought I could possibly do it. On a scale of 1 to 10 what would you rate the difficulty at? 10 being the hardest.

It's a 3 expect for that one nut, at least on my unit.  I contacted RNG and he said he's never had a problem with that nut so the factory must have had mine torqued extra!

it's easy to do but make sure you line everything back up because it's balanced. I actually missed the mark the first time and it was noticeable. if you run your finger around the parts you can feel a notch that needs to be lined up but mark them with a sharpy.

I installed a MSC stage 1 with trail helix. Machine engages a little smoother in forward and reverse. However the clutch kit did absolutely nothing for the throttle surge in the trail. I figured that was going to be the case. The problem is throttle response. It's just too touchy at low speed trail riding. My machine is really horrible to drive in the trail.

I just installed a EPI kit in mine.
No jerky takeoff or reverse anymore, pretty impressed.
Seems to have livened up the machine.

I've trusted EPI products for 25 years. Never been disappointed. They truly are "The Clutch Guys". So glad they are taking an interest in CFMoto.

Embarrassing...I finally got around to installing it this morning. took less than an hour total (barely)
No problem getting the clutch bolt or nut off. Really only 1 case cover screw was hard to get to. Its a pretty easy job for someone with some mechanical experience and doable for even someone with limited experience. Having all the right tools helps for sure. The video on youtube is your guide.
I noticed the replacement spring was shorter than the original and the magnets seemed lighter.
Made a huge difference I can easily drive around my trails in low. Very satisfied.  I might do the other clutch but I'm not really sure I need to.
