O2 sensor P013029 Code
« on: November 01, 2024, 01:40:08 AM »
I wanted to share my experience with the engine suffering a lack of power and the check engine coming on.  I had the code P013029 flashing on the display. I connected my OBD@ reader and got 3 codes back p01230, p0134, p013(29) all o2 sensor-bank 1 errors. On my reader, I can view live data on a graph. I could see from the graph that the bank 1 sensor would start normally and then drop to 0 volts.

I replaced the sensor on what I believed was bank 1. There was no change, I replaced bank 2 sensor no change. I plugged the bank 1 sensor into the bank 2 wire, no change.

I had given up and was buttoning everything up to take to the dealer. When everything was back together, I started it and heard a noise. I looked back at the engine, and there was a spark arcing from the spark plug wire to the frame. I shut off the engine and pushed the wire back onto the coil. I restarted the engine, and everything ran perfectly!

So 5-days of troubleshooting off and on. $100 in O2 sensors and it was just a loose spark plug wire.  ::)

Figures...add spark plug wires to the ever-growing list of things to check for being loose on a CFM.
