Electrical Problems
« on: May 18, 2020, 06:37:29 PM »
We purchased a new 2019 UForce 1000 back in September and have had nothing but problems. Been in for service 5 times, mostly being electrical issues; battery draining, USB outlets melted 2 cords, dash display went out and battery drained again (still in shop for battery drained problem). Other issues we've had is the machine seems to starve for fuel after it warms up and you attempt to restart it, We have to tap the pedal to get her to start (dealer has no idea how or why this happens). Tailgate was always falling down and the dealer had to add washers to take the side to side play out just to keep it closed and the 4x4 actuator went out. All this with only 32 miles on it. Is it just our machine or what?

Sounds like a combination of both.

You bought a machine with some issues, and have a service department that appears insufficient to the task of fixing it correctly. This often compounds problems which is not the fault of the machine.

If their idea of fixing a tailgate is to add washers, then they haven't diagnosed or fixed the problem properly.

The starting issue could be caused by several factors, but i would start with cleaning the T-MAP sensor.

Electrical issues are fairly simple to diagnose if you've been properly trained and have the correct tools.
If wires melted, then there is a short someplace.

Today's phone call they are telling us that the machine needs to stay on a charger when not being driven, noting about what's causing the battery to drain daily just to keep a charger on it. We are just baffled by all this. Maybe time to try another dealership for warranty repairs.

With 32 miles on it, and they can't fix it, it might be worth demanding a replacement. Further, I would contact CFMoto directly and tell them about the failure of this dealership to fix these issues properly.

I would push, and push hard. This is unacceptable.

If there is a better service dept near you, that may be faster.
