Z800 Size

Looking at possibly buying a Z800. The dealer is an hour away. I'm 6-1 and 250 lbs. Will my knees be hitting the dash when I sit in this thing?

I think the answer is no, you won't hit the dash with your knees but there won't be a lot of extra room there. Being 5'7" and 230 I find the room OK but could have a bit more width..and although I have done some extra modifications to get the seat back more, still could use a couple more inches maybe. Many people that are in your size range have reported that they were fine as long as the seat was all the way back to that they still feel a little cramped. I find it interesting that the Chinese make these things with plenty to too much height (really tall cages), but short on width and leg room and sell them in the western market where people are..yes, taller, but also in need of more room in all other aspects. The rest make their cages shorter but make more room for the operator to the most part. I'd say..you are just going to have to try one on for size. While there try the 950 if they have one. I hear they are better in that department.  :)

I went to the dealership yesterday and "fit" into a 800. It was tight. I sat in Z950 and it was much better. Than we started talking numbers between freight and dealer setup it was $2300. Seems expensive so I backed out. Is that what it costs in fees for everybody else?

I paid slightly below MSRP in 2017 (including the factory directionals kit), so I cringe when I hear what people are being charged today for shipping and setup.

I just looked at my paperwork and I only paid 670.00 in freight and dealer prep. Then I got a 600-dollar factory rebate..so...70 bucks :)  Sorry people. My how things have changed in just 7 years.

I contacted perhaps a dozen dealers .  Long Island, upstate NY, NJ, PA…. I was looking to place an order on a 2022 ZForce 950.  Just about all were non committal.    They couldn’t quote me an exact price for shipping, “ocean fees” and were only certain of document fees and dealer prep.   Most had freight/shipping at $1,000 and a $250 “ocean fee”.  Dealer prep was all over the place.  Document fees were between $100-175.  Those add up FAST.   That was a few months ago.

I ordered from a place in NJ that was realistic with their fees and my expectations on delivery time.  I told the dealer in mid December that I don’t need it until the end of March.

I hope to hear something in February, but can certainly wait .

Best advice……now that you have a machine in mind, find a dealership that can work with you on the price.

So, I was going to rush and buy a Z with a plow because I wanted a plow and that was available semi locally. After thinking about it some more, I decided to go with a U1000 with cab and plow. Dealer is 4 hours away but it was a fair deal and he had it in stock. I pick it up Thursday.
