I do not own one but have sold a few dozen 500 and 500HO.   Of those 25 or so units over the past 2.5 years only had a few with major issues.

1 with a starter clutch
2 starters
2 winches
3 winch cables
1 connector came off of a fuel pump relay

Obviously a few of those could have been caused by the operator.
All covered under warranty without question by CF MOTO USA

Are there more powerful, bigger, better handling, better equipped machines out there?  Without question.  Are there machines that offer the features, performance, reliability and price, that the C500S and C500HO do?   Haven't seen anything yet.

Also if you are looking for small to medium size chassis, there isn't much out there to compete with these.

. Still, if it were me..I might be tempted to push my pocketbook just enough to land the CForce 800 in my garage. Besides, it sounds like you need the towing power anyway.

Thank you for responding.  The 800 would be too much for my wife who would be using it as much if not more than me.

The fact that I've received only 3 responses and 0 from an actual 500s owner makes me more concerned.

Will this is just wrong. I was not going respond further in this thread as others have touched on some good points. I've heard & dealt with it's to much for my wife comment many times  :)

The  CF800 is a superior ATV in many ways, first & foremost it is easier to ride. Power band is very smooth, unless the operator is someone who may panic & clamped the throttle WOT I would not worry about it for a second.

Turning radius is much tighter with the 800, ride quality & comfort day & night. Just have a look @ the differences in suspension, adjustability & seating.

Here comes my broken record comments, noise & vibration then of course which motor do you want listen all day? V twins are far more pleasing to the ear.

Last, you can probably move up to the 800 for nearly the same price as the 500 in the competitive brands.......then the list of standard features that are optional on the other brands.

Your comment about lack of responses, maybe no news is good news  ;D people by nature generally only complain  ;)

Best of luck!

Thank you for responding.  I appreciate the insights very much.  I haven't seen an 800 in person but I did ask the dealer about it & was told it was much more than I needed for my limited uses. Probably because they didn't have one.  The only other 2 dealers in California & Nevada don't have any either.  In fact, there are only three 500's and three 400s available in both states, all 17's

I guess I could wait for the 2018's to arrive.

With this product the dealer needs to be above average, I would not worry so much about the product quality.......I would be more concerned about the capability & how far you will have to travel to a dealer that you will need from time to time.
Research the dealer & distance you are prepared to travel.

My CF Moto dealer is above average, though he's about 4 hours drive time away. I didn't expect to have to bug him for anything and I haven't had to. 8) It's all good.

I have an older 2013 CF500 that I use for trailing, hunting, weed spraying and towing a 5' mower with and it has never let me down or needed any work other than regular maintaince.

I think part of the issue as well is that there aren't nearly as many CForce owners on here as SxS owners. Also, these forums are terribly active, handful of active users but I can go a week without stopping by and be caught up in 30 minutes.

I have a 2016 UForce 800 and love it so far. Only have about 40 miles on it though so I can't speak to the longevity. I managed to snag a Demo that was sold as new for about $9,000 with 17 miles on it. Comparable Polaris/Honda/Yamana would've been in the $14,000 range no doubt. It's got loads of power and can really rip.

As to the comments about your wife not being able to handle it, my mom drives ours around no problem. I mean sure it's faster than the 500 but it's not Lamborghini. It's not going to throw you. Like the other guy said, unless they're going to panic and cramp down on the throttle, that's a non-issue. In the SxS frame the 800 was just so much smoother, quicker, and quiter(big selling point) than the 500 that it was a no brainer. Especially give then sneaky awesome deal I got.

No dealer around you does stink, but FWIW there are a bunch of dealers around here and they love them. Can't keep them in stock. Seems to be the consensus on the half dozen or so I talked to.

I just bought my wife a cforce 500S.  Had to get her something smaller, I've got an ODES Assailant it's way to big for her but its a beast.

I purchased a new 2018 CF Moto 500 HO and so far love it.  The price, looks and performance have been great for me.  I have a dealer close by so I hope if I do have any problems they can take care of me.  I would say if you plan on keeping it a long time (which I do) and taking good care of it you should be good.  I am always of fan of taking care of my machines and they will last a long time.

Good luck.   :)

Careful with that air filter.  I'm not sure what conditions you ride in but, 1500 km is a lot of km betwixt cleansings.

i have a 2015 500 HO, it was great the first 2k miles, since then, not so much.  Water pump failed, dealer fixed, failed again.  They can't get fan to kick on, had to wire it to the key and it's on all the time (i can live with that).  Not terrible but now it will not run at all.  Bad starter, still no luck.  Turns over but will not start.  They think it has lost compression and needs torn down.  The mechanics at the dealer told me that they don't see any with more than 1500 miles, after that they are in the shop all the time.  They told me that i got my $'s worth and to stop putting $ in it.  I had 2 other shops look at it to make sure they weren't trying to get me to buy a new one.  They both said, don't fix it and cut my loses.  just my 2 cents

I think from a lot of reading mostly the side by sides, the Diff's are weak and might explode as someone found out putting tracks on it.  I doubt the diff on the C series is that special and all the models may even use the same one.

I for one and extremely concerned about reliability. I don't want my ride residing at the dealer.
On another note I spent time reading about the Commander Can Am on their site and saw a lot of Overheat and Diff destruction issues there. It make me wonder about side by side all together. I'd expect a lot more from BRP especially at their price.

If you're buy on of these you'll want a new one under warranty for sure. But they're starting around $14,000 in Canada and not cheap enough over the name brand to run to a dealer for one. Forget the loaded builds, I can use any of it if I can't use it as intended with it broke down. Except the wench I guess, I'd be able to use that...

Ive Had my Zforce 500Ho For 3 months now super nice.  Plenty of power for me.  I think
it has as much power as my old grizzly 660 with a tuner .  It will do 62mph with 2 guys in it.  It wants to clime & carwl throgh or over what ever i throw at . THIS THING IS AWESOM & JUST AS GOOD AS THE BIG NAME BRAND.  Remember they all started out small .

and it's not babied one bit, we ride it hard.
we always get comments how others like the way it looks and sound.
