Mileage on my 2015 ZFORCE 800 Ex

The point of this thread is to post mileage AND any problems you had. Didnt you have your cam chains, tensioners, and guides replaced under warranty??? Posting the mileage AND problems to date allow current owners and potential owners to know what to expect.

I am going to try this again.  First off  my unit caught on fire the first day before I unloaded off the trailer.  The dealer that sold it to me installed the battery backwards and it arked on frame and burnt the top of the battery off and some wiring. They sent me another battery and I repaired myself. In about a week I noticed the right rear tire seemed to have a wheel bearing down, after further inspection the nut was so loose you could actually spin the washer behind it. I tighten the nut and all seemed okay.  However riding it with a loose wheel for a week caused the seal in the differential to fail as well as wore out the wheel bearing.  Every things seem to be going well for about four months.  I was heading home one night running about 60 mph when knock came in engine. Shut unit down and towed home.  Shut unit down and towed home.   The dealer where I bought the machine said they could not look at it for weeks. So I found a dealer in Tennessee that said they could look at it for me. Loaded it up and hauled it 3 hours to dealer. Three months later I finally get my unit back. Since I did not buy my unit there I did appreciate there help but I had to work on unit several days tightening a lot of stuff  had bad oil leak and muffler fell off after first ride when I got it back. I fixed all that myself. Couple months later unit started blowing fuse and odometer went crazy and finally just quit. At this point I had found a dealer in Pikeville about 2 hours from me so I took it there.

Wow, usa needs to prep their dealers better.
The units should go through a PDI before customers .
Sorry to hear of your problems
CFmotoGuy, Maybe you need to do a dealer meeting and bring everyone up to speed
If it has Pistons or Tits you will encounter problems.

This dealer has been awesome and really went out of their way to help me. They found that the wiring to the speed sensor had not been secured properly from previous repair and had rubbed completely into.  They fixed it very quickly and I went back a couple days later and picked up. Couple weeks later a rattle developed under valve cover toward cab. Figured had about 800 miles since overhaul so would have valves adjusted. When cover was removed the chains, guides, and tensioners were wore out and the chains were causing noise. Returned to dealer and they repaired under warranty. Unit was 11 months old and had about 2800 miles. A few weeks later I got unit back and noticed the clutch did not sound right and second ride quit holding back. Return to dealer. They replaced wet clutch, one way bearing, and they said rebuilt primary clutch and secondary. Once again everything was under warranty.

Post dealers name location, let's support the great service locations, After sales in what is needed.
My comment about some dealers is there is a checklist that needs to be completed before the unit go's out.
To catch the little stuff that can ruin a good day out on  the trails.
If it has Pistons or Tits you will encounter problems.

Wow Scottzforce800, I am super-surprised you are still a CFM owner at all. I would have thrown-in the towel long ago. I was even thinking of it today when I discovered my infamous suspension squeak was back in the rear. Other bushing, bushing I had not worked on before had started rotating in the tubes. I pulled it all down and went to my bushing suppliers to get some better ones but nobody had anything any even close to these so I ended up modifying the OEs, gluing them in place and installing wear plates on the ends. Also noticed the surfacing is coming apart on the sleeves...cheap low grade steel. Just got 700 miles on it. This stuff should be an issue for at least 2500...IMO  OK, rant over :)

To be honest NMK I am kinda stuck. I owe four more years and would lose my butt if I tried to trade or sell. The engine is what worries me though, including clutches as well. I don't think these engines will hold up.  Rest of machine had been great. Sad CF Moto suppose to be building engines for years and only side by side a short time. Did good on side by side but their engines won't last. Good power but no longevity. Sure hope I can get at least another year out of mine that way I will only be paying for three years for something I can't use, lol.

That's funny because my engine has been doing so well lately, I'm actually starting to trust it....lol.

2016 800 EX with 300 miles.  Only issue so far was the right front lower a-arm bolt loosened up at around 250.  Took the nut off cleaned it up, a little blue loctite and shes good to go.  Heading back to northern NH in a few months for another 300 or so.  I'll update again.  To add a little to the constant talk of poor PDI leading to a lot of these issues.   Being that the vast majority of shops that carry CF Moto are multi line dealers.   They "should" be use to prepping an ATV.  I can say that some of what I have ready for issues, are thing that you don't need to check on the japanese machines.  That being said they should be able to identify these issues and adjust there PDI checks accordingly.  Just my $.02.

Hey guys,
Just bought a 2016 Zforce 800 eps. Took it out for the first ride this weekend, GREAT, impressed. .....until. ....it died in the bottom of a canyon and we had to tow it out. Turns out the ignition switch is bad, less than 40 miles on it.
Dealer days 7-10 days for a new one, so I have a new machine I took out once and can't ride for like another 2 weeks....hope this is my only trouble. Definitely doesn't instill confidence in the new to the US machine I was nervous to buy in the first place :(
