Looking for a UTV for farm work and snow plowing
« on: January 29, 2022, 12:24:53 PM »
Been using our beloved 2005 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO for many years to get us around with tools, feed, and other farm work. Each winter it has plowed us out of just about anything north central WA winters have thrown at us.  Problem is I'm going to be 70 this year and riding around in the open with temps in the teens and plowing 4,000 of gravel driveway is getting tougher.

So we've been looking for a strictly utilitarian UTV. No need for trail riding, no need for beverage cups, no bluetooth speaker systems. Just a good solid vehicle with a full cab, something that I can hook a snow plow system to that will handle up to 8 to 12" of snow once every few years but mostly 4 to 6" at a time. Probably my last buy and I'd like something reliable with some longevity, not too hard to find parts for and that I can do a fair amount of the maintenance. Stumbled across CFMoto as I've been researching the better known UTVs and it looked like something worth considering.

Does anyone have experience with using either the Uforce 800 or 1000 the way we would want to use them? Thanks.

No experience myself with the U Forces but I do have a good "ear-to-the-ground" on feedback. For your needs there are mostly two on top that fit the bill as both will need an enclosed cab, some heat..someday, the power and durability to plow long periods and with at least a 72" plow. Both should be 1000s and both need to do all things related to property upkeep. The Polaris Ranger and the CF Moto UForce would be the front runners on my list. The Ranger would be my first choice however at almost double the price of the CF Moto...and no extras..even a winch..I may have to go with the CFM and upgrade along the way. There are others such as the Kawasaki Mule, the Can Am HD10.. and one of the Hondas but there is still that price-factor. If I were going to just use it for plowing I think I would just get a plow for my truck but with property to take care of...it may justify a Utility vehicle.

I have had a U1000 since July.  It sure would do all that you need one to do and then some.  I do not plow just mostly ride for fun but I'm very impressed with the machine I got for the price.  Now that factory doors and windows are available it'll seal up nice for you in the winter.  There are even heaters available for them (not factory however).  The U600 might even be enough machine for what you are asking and also has windows and doors available.  In my limited experience I would stay away from the 800 though in your situation.  The reason I say this has nothing to do with the quality of the machine or it's capabilities but that it is a very much different design with more bucket type seating than the bench of the 600 and 1000.  I found the bench style much easier to get in and out of and the width of the 1000 felt so roomy inside.  I guess one more thing is that I haven't seen the cab endclosures for the 800 and I do not believe (could be wrong tho) that there are doors available for it from CFMoto.  I must say though that the seating was a deal breaker for me when I was looking and I have not dug deep into what is available for the 800.

For a Cfmoto the Uforce 1000 is the way to go they do have a full factory cab with heater an wiper available the 2022 also has a work mode switch
I plow 12 to 20 inches of snow with mine an no issues
I use it to haul fire wood an tow a lil trailer

The jerky clutches may turn you off but they can be adjusted for cheap an just a lil time

Find yourself a local dealer or 2 if possible an ask anyone you see driving one how the dealer is
That will make or break your experience with Cfmoto
in my opinion
I have a great dealer an no issue hasn’t been addressed instantly
No matter how small an there hasn’t been many
been a Lot more with my Polaris
There are 3 other dealers within 30-45 mins from me an all out one have been great
A ranger was my first choice but my 1 local dealer an hour away  is horrible to deal with an the price was much more then I wanted to spend

Head to your local dealer
Get in one a drive it !
You just might take one home lol

The best UTVs for plowing snow is 250cc or 400cc, but the more powerful you get, the better. Also, Kubota RTV-X1100C, Kubota RTV-X1100C, Polaris Defender, Polaris RTV-X1120D and Kawasaki Mule are the best UTVs for plowing snow. If you'd like know more https://carspediem.com/best-utv-for-plowing-snow/ pretty useful article.  :)
