Hello, couldn%u2019t find it but looking to get into my first quad. Deciding between the 800 vs 1000. Would anyone from experience or knowledge be able to explain the differences between the two aside from how many ponies they each have? Is the jump to 1000 noticeable in performance, etc?

Thank you!

Welcome and hang in there. Not many have had both to compare from but in the mean time I'll dump what I know..and/or heard about each. If it were up to me and money wasn't a factor, I would go for the 1000 because it was the new 1000's engine that the new 800's case was based on and there have been far fewer issues with the 1000s then the 800s...although by now(2022+) the issues have mostly been sorted-out. Plus there are some design changes and improvements on the 1000's chassis that are worth having..much like the new Zs. So in short, even the first CF1000s had less issues then the first CF800 Xcs. Now what they need is a 2-up 1000...or maybe they do by now.

Thank you for your reply! Seems to be a beast. I see that they've released the 2023s - are there significant differences in the years? The internet doesn't have much info on it haha.

No major changes. CFM makes "adjustments" in production to address issues that they feel are in need of addressing.

I'm new to CFM, just picked up my 1000 last week...ive ridden motorcycles and quads my entire life 20+ years.  I have to say CFM seems very legit.  I had been debating the 2 models for a year or so.  My decision came down to the standard equipment.  the 1000 comes with the skid plates, bead locks, cargo etc...these were all items i ultimately would have added, when you add all the upgrades you are way past the msrp difference, and you still have a smaller 800.  The 1000 is a beast.  Still "breaking it in" and haven't had the chance to really test it but, it is definitely worth every $
