Hi all,

My husband and I are thinking about buying a used 2021 z 800 trail model w/5 miles on it. I know it's Chinese, I know it's based on the same style from 2014, etc. My husband is a little over 6 foot and doesn't think he could sit comfortably in it for a long time. It's basically for me to ride (gently) on trails and to drive back and forth to town (you can plate them and run them on city roads where I live). Is it worth buying? It's listed for $11k but we'd offer less. We live in a dusty area, so it sounds like we'd need to put a different air filter on it. Thanks!

Welcome. It's basically new and should be in new condition and if that were so, anything in the 10-11K range would be fair IMO. However..I would have to ask why it's being sold and if it has been in the shop at all. Too new to even have it's first oil change but not too new to have some of the issues they have...especially low oil pressure. Be sure to check that out and YES, do not run it without a properly treated UniFilter on it. Otherwise she will be gone in less then 1500 miles in dusty conditions.

Cool. The seller says they bought it to use on their farm and then they sold their farm. So they tell us. A friend who knows UTVs is checking it out for us first.

If it checks out and you get it, just take care of it and it will give you good service. They are not X3s or YXZs but they are s decent trail machine for exploring and general riding. Tell the people looking at it to watch the oil pressure light. It should go out when starting or immediately upon starting. If it stays on while idling...walk away.
