Hi guys , my brother's quad brake lights ain't working. Done the basics and changed bulbs but only tail lights work no brake.

So inspected a little further and see the wiring loom has been hacked a little in the past so doesn't really seem to match up to the manual I was looking at unless there's a different manual for the 2014 version?

I'm just trying to figure out what wires go to where and what should have continuity and what voltage and ground.

As far as I can tell it looks like there is a small brake lever switch on the front brake.

Checked continuity of the switch contacts but nothing so presumed this was the fault . I then put a joing cable on the 2 leads coming off but still no lights?

I've traced both these cables and they both go to the middle of quad . I get continuity on each cable.

I presume these would have gone into some form of connector but it's been hacked off and joined to a brake sensor attached to a spring . This looks like it's seen better days so I've removed that and again tested lights with and without a jumper wire and still nothing .

I also noticed a small 2 pin plug disconnected in the same area and this looks like it's into the back of the brake hydraulics. I presume this is a hydraulic pressure switch?

I've checked continuity from the two prongs on the brake bulb to the wires in the centre joint and one has continuity.

Any ideas what/ where to test/ bypass next

Fuse is fine
Brake relay seems okay , but swapped with another just in case .

Is there any diagrams of the wiring loom solely for the brake system electrics as there must be something I'm missing .

Also it seems like there is continuity from both the negative and positive battery terminals of the battery to the chassis ?  It's been a long day so I might be missing something obvious. I presume if there was a short it wouldn't run or fuses would be blown.

Cheers

Just been sent a different eps code list. So unsure which is for this vehicle . This one gives a different fault for error 32 . And says to replace the controller (listed as an eps ECU)

Any ideas which is correct.

Also do you know where the EPS relay is located . I've got the main bank of relays. No mention of it in the owner's manual .

Thanks for the info, the Speedo and all dash lights and mil work correctly. I haven't checked any standard fault codes not related to the EPS light but guess I should start there just in case it's something else related first.

I just assumed the manual was a poor translation when it said replace the ECU with error code 32. Thinking it meant the EPS. Guess I didn't want to replace the ECU and then figure out I still have to replace the whole eps system . Mil  light does show , Speedo is fine . I did unplug all eps cables and it did seem to work for a short ride . But now the fault has returned.

Again I'll investigate further on Tuesday now and post back what I find. Thanks for your help

Looks like error code 32 to me . So if all looks okay then it says to replace ECU.

I presume this refers to the EPS ECU and not the main ECU ?

Many thanks I'll take a look and see what it shows up.

Probs gonna be a few faults I reckon with it as I can see the fan has been over ridden and put on a separate switch direct off the batter etc

CForce 800 XC / cforce 800cc LWB automatic eps fault
April 08, 2023, 02:52:16 PM
Hi guys , my brother has got the Cfmoto cforce 800cc LWB automatic 2014. And it has an eps fault . Power steering not working at all. I've had a look for a service manual but can't find anything . Does anyone have the error code list.

I'll upload a short vid of the flashing error.

It's had some alterations so I'm just trying to trace wires fuses etc.

The EPS 30a fuse is good and in tact when removed it removes the light from the dash

I've swapped relay  (unsure which one as wasn't labeled but presume bottom left of relay panel)

Checked wiring is connected from there direct to EPS controller

Wire then goes power out to the EPS motor. Then wire goes from eps into sensor .

Unsure of what voltages and pins to check . From there and in what order.

Rather not replace the whole unit due to cost if possible it can just be one part that is faulty .

Any help appreciated . Pm. Is open for code list
