I have noticed this happening the last couple of times I have gone out. I start my '22 800 trail, shift from park to high, and the indicator light changes from P to H just like it should. Then sometime in the middle of my ride the PARK indicator light comes back on and stays on so both the H and the P are lit up. Any ideas on what is going on? It does not seem to affect performance. TIA

General Discussion / Re: What Have You Done For Your CFMoto Today
May 02, 2023, 01:36:29 PMQuote from: NMKawierider on May 01, 2023, 12:05:26 PMYes, it's Bobby J's. The guy quoted me $500- $700 for the break-in maintenance, which includes a valve clearance check, but it shouldn't include changing the diffs and transmission fluid as those are just checked at the break-in maintenance.
Was that Bobby J's? I got mine there too. If theirs includes valve lash adjustment it does take extra time to remove the plastics and valve covers. And if it includes the diff, gear case, and transmission oil changes, that's.."rounded" hour or so and fluids. I too always do my own...everything.
I did everything except the valve clearance myself, I guess I will take it to them to check the valve clearance. I am sure that alone will cost me an arm and a leg.

Just completed the break-in maintenance on my 800 trail. Was actually really easy, no problems what so ever. My engine doesn't have a wet clutch, so it actually makes it easier to change the oil because the drain plug and the dipstick are more easily accessible. I rocked the whole thing out in less than an hour and a half, and I even took the rear tires off to make it easier to get to the grease fittings. Cost me about $125 and thats because I bought two UNI filters so I can always have a clean one to put in.
This lends the question, why in the heck my local shop quoted me 3-4 hours and $500+ to do the same work? The only thing I couldn't do myself was check the check the engine valve clearance.

I have two different ways I carry mine in the back of my truck. Around town I use Mad-Ramps, they connect to my hitch and are super easy and secure. It takes me about 10 minutes to get my machine loaded and it takes up almost no space in my garage. When I am going camping and pulling my camper I use an UTV deck. Much bulkier to deal with, but works well.

Where Did You Ride This Weekend? / Re: First true ride of the year

Nice! I was wondering if the Jemez was rideable yet. Jemez central said all the forest roads were still closed. Where in the Jemez was that. if you don't mind me asking?
Jemez Central said they got 120 inches of snow this year which is nearly twice the amount they got last year and more than they've gotten in the last 15 years. Should be a great year for camping, maybe we will be able to have an actual wood fire this year!!

Reports say that all our mountain areas got 100% and+ their normal average snow fall this year so it's bound to be a great spring.

Some friends have invited us to go up to South Fork Co. with them for a two-week dry camp trip in August. That will depend on how the wife feels. Of course we will be doing our regular Gallina and Jemez trips before then.Quote from: NMKawierider on April 08, 2023, 10:42:51 AMQuote from: NMtrailRDR on April 08, 2023, 10:25:00 AMVery cool. The wife and I are going to try something new this spring and take a run down to the Lincoln NF close to Cloudcroft just for something different before the summer comes on too much. Gota get off my butt and get the camper serviced....lolQuote from: NMKawierider on April 07, 2023, 10:51:11 AMI'm in the NE Heights as well. I looked at a couple of your YouTube videos. We camp in a lot of the same places.
Welcome to the group...from the NE Heights.
Nice area down there. We've done a lot of camping in the Gila and been to Ruidoso several times but never around Cloucroft. OnX Off Road shows lots of good trails down there.
We have trips to Woodland Park, Silverton, Red River, and Durango booked this summer. We will also head up to the Jemez several times. We just bought a new camper in March so we are ready to get out of town.
South Fork is awesome! I am headed there August 24-27 for a golf/fishing/Trail riding weekend with the boys. We go up there every year, although this is the first year I am taking our ZForce.

I have been on this forum quite a bit after searching for various topics for my new CF Moto. I have a 2022 Z Force 800 trail. Bought it in December. It's my first side by side, all I have ridden previously are four-wheelers and bikes. I've gotten some good info on here and have already gotten pretty good at working on this thing, hopefully I can continue to pick up some good ideas and even maybe contribute some.
I see there are a few New Mexico folks on here hopefully we can talk about good places to ride around here.
