UForce 800 / Re: snorkel kit

I made up my own snorkel for about $40.  Unless that kit is inexpensive (i see it was included in your buy - good deal) making my own setup wasn't so bad once I decided how I wanted to route it.

When I ordered a CPU for my U800 it took right at 3 months.

If anyone wants to buy a slightly used, perfectly factory operational 2021 U800 CPU, just let me know ;)

My ECU finally came yesterday.  Once I found my 10mm socket and ratchet it took about 3 minutes to disconnect the negative battery connection and install.  To save some of you the trouble, the ECU is right behind the drivers seat. :)

I am very satisfied with the change.  Now, when I slowly roll on the throttle it picks up and just 'goes'.  Gone is the jump that always happened right as the throttle cracked open.  Reverse is steady and controllable.  I don't have to hold the brake on so that it doesn't launch backwards.  It is the same when starting off on an incline.  I can go from the brake to the throttle with only my right foot like normal; no more holding the brake w the left foot in anticipation of the sudden jump.  I've also noticed that as I go steady across the field it doesn't chug on and off as my foot slightly changes throttle position bumping over the bumps.  The other thing that hasn't happened yet is that I had a random backfire through the intake at takeoff.  I never nailed down the exact scenario(s) that caused it but <knock_on_wood> it hasn't yet happened w the new ECU.  And, as a last test, I took it out on the road and ran it up to 55MPH just to make sure that the mid/top end wasn't gone.  I'm not interested in finding top end ;)

In short, I'm disappointed that CFM isn't helping folks with this under a warranty claim but since I bought it used I wasn't really in that group to begin with.  But, other than the ~$400 I had to pay for it, I am happy with the results.

Funny... not funny....  I'm still waiting for the ECU.

I have been working on a homemade snorkel system.  I'm mostly done, but taking my time.

Once I recovered from the facepalm, I ordered it.
I followed up w a call to them a day or two after.  The parts guy pointed out that I'd ordered a Z part for a U model.  I told him what I was doing and he, of course, wouldn't go on record about whether or not it would or could work.  He mentioned that it being an electrical part I couldn't return it once opened.  The packaging is apparently clear enough to see the plugs.  I'm hoping that I can determine if they're the same without opening it :)  He also said that he had sold several in the last few months.  So far, it hasn't arrived at their store to be shipped my way.

Hey.  BillZ.  when I go to the link below, it shows all of the parts as being Discontinued.  Hoping that was a website error, I called them and the phone number goes to a dead line then hangs up.

I guess my question to you is if that is how their site looked when you contacted them or if it looks like they've shuttered the business?

Does anyone know if an alternate source for the Z800 ECM?  I've had no luck so far.

I replaced the ECU/ECM with the Z8 unit also.  Part number 0800-174000-2000  - Z8.  It cost $375 with shipping. Huge improvement.
It runs like it should. no more stalling on acceleration runs smoother then before.
