Well that would be some bad news. I waited almost 4 months for this one. I am gonna take it to the place I bought the motor from and have them look at it and proceed from there just didnt want wait a month but guess that is better than 4 month for the new motor. I replaced the motor because the head exploded the casting cracked and bit went everywhere and no shop wanted to rebuild so new motor it was. I am the second owner of this machine but this motor is brand new that I purchased and installed. So i will contact shop and go from there. thanks for direction I was getting really frustrated.

General Discussion / Re: 2016 zforce motor replace

So with the linkage removed I used a pair of pliers to shift the motor. In low, reverse and high it starts then pops right out of gear. This is a brand new motor from cfmoto. If it is the fork would this be covered under warranty. Guessing probably not because I installed the motor. Hasn't moved 50 feet yet cause it wouldn't stay in gear.

General Discussion / 2016 zforce motor replace
July 07, 2021, 03:50:10 AM
Had to replace motor on my 2016 zforce 800ex after engine failure. Everything with motor install went well but after I cant get transmission to engage. Tried adjusting the rod with no luck. Motor will not stay in gear even when using just detents of motor. At a loss currently and no appointments for months at dealer. Is there something I am missing after motor swap? This was a complete swap not a rebuild. Motor has zero miles and has moved less than 25 feet under its own power.
