General Discussion / Remove front CV shaft
May 26, 2023, 08:49:03 PM
Had new front CV shaft come for my 2017 CForce 500. When I made the snap to remove old shaft, the cup or housing separated and stayed in the differential. How do I remove this?

General Discussion / Re: CForce CF500 Review

Never really solved it. I disconnected the foot brake safety mechanism to at least take that part away from the issue. May have helped a little, but not to the point that my wife would be able to take it on her own. Only hf hr job. By the way, my plight hasn't ended. Since then the hitch receiver keeps working loose. Busted rad clamp caused a loss of all coolant one day. Fuel gauge started acting up and had to bend float rod to get any type of accuracy. Foot brake has seized up a couple times during storage. Got it freed up first time but had to replace master cylinder last year. Clutch fell apart 2 years ago and had to replace full unit. I've got about 6 hose clamps wrapped around exhaust heat shields to stop vibration. See what happens this year.

Byes, I think this one way bearing is only a farce. I refused to pay $450 for an engine brake convenience, so I took mine out and removed all the little(I'll call them dogs). The two bearings were fine so I just repacked them. Reinstalled everything and went for a run the other day. Bike works the same as always, less the noise. Engine braking works fine. I see absolutely no difference.

I agree 100% with NMKawierider.
And why burn more fuel and place extra wear on components unnecessarily? If conditions permit you to drive 50-60+ kph, you certainly don't need 4X4.

So, I refuse to pay $433 for a GD one way bearing from dealer. Ludicrous. I tried couple local bearing suppliers but no luck. Got a few emails sent out. Waiting on replies. Took bearing out today, removed dogs from the one way center, packed the two bearings and reinstalled. No more engine brake, but as I said, not paying $433 just for that. One more nail in CFMoto's coffin for me.

I just googled the part number and there are plenty of places in US advertizing them. Listed as 35x47x7mm deep groove bearing.
NTN 6807LB. These are only the two removable bearings in the sleeve. This is not the complete one way bearing.

Try to measure the one way bearing. On my 2017 cf 520 (500s for you in the us) I measured the one way bearing and it looked like it had cvtech trailblock standard measurements for one way bearings.

Do you have the measurements and picture? Mine is also 500. Still using bike, so don't really want to take it apart til I get one.

Just on CVTech website. No listings for one way bearings. Update: Ok, just found it.

When I search NTN 6807LB, which was listed in a previous reply, it just seems to be a regular roller bearing. Says nothing about one way or sprag. This doesn't seem to be the correct one?

Ok, because Amazon shows this type.

Anybody have a picture of this bearing?

I've had shifting issues with my 500 since day one, especially low. Had it back to dealer several times, but still gotta work at it.

If you want to drain the fluid and fill the system with air...that'll do it.
Kinda thinkin that too. Unless I hang around and keep an eye on it. Let ya know how I make out.

That is what mine does. You need to keep bleeding 🩸 the brakes. It still has air in it. We found mine is ONLY the right front every time. But every thing is dry. Weird..... I know. No sign of a leak. Oh yea 0 resistance on the pedal when it does it. Hope this helps.

Thanks. So, do you get any air when you bleed? I tried several times and didn't get any. Just small drop of fluid from rear caliper and small drop from one of two bleed screws on each front caliper. I'll try again.

Someone suggested I put a weight on foot brake, tie hand brake to handle bar, walk away and leave bleed screws open for a while.

I had this issue with my 500 shortly after purchase. Dealer changed switch and ok after.
