Coolant temperature sensor which I believe is around the bottom of the cylinder kind of above the water pump.

General Discussion / Rad fan not kicking on
April 19, 2019, 01:39:07 PM
My rad fan isn't coming on and my temp isn't registering on my 800 terralander. The fan does work when I connect 12 volts to it. Would the CTS be the problem? I was thinking the thermal switch on the rad but the CTS is what registers the temp correct?

Hello Everyone
I posted my problem back in the spring sadly i was unable to find a solution, so put the atv away for the winter but with spring here now I'm hoping to get this issue fixed and to get out riding.
I have a 2014 800 terralander, I bought it used and unfortunately it never really worked well it was always running rich and fouling plugs. i found that the previous owner had way too much oil in it, well above the dip stick line. so the atv was running I parked it then 2 days later I removed about 20 oz of oil from the engine so that it was about 3/4 the way up the dip stick. That was all I did and when I tried to start the atv the starter would turn over but I had no spark and my fuel pump wouldn't engage to prime the line. I have tested the kill switch contacts, and i have tested the fuses and swapped relays without any success.
