On my 2023 800 Trail, it has been unfortunately sitting on garage for past 3 months while I recover from some serious injuries, not related to the 800 Trail.

Just today, my son noticed there was some "green stuff" leaking from the side by side. I took a look and it's a bit more than just a couple drips. I am unable to get underneath for a closer look. It has been rather cold here lately getting down to lower 20's and into the teens.  I have had similar but not quite as much coolant drips under previous motorcycles in similar conditions and they had come from the weep hole under water pump. As spring approached and weather would warm up, no more dripping and no issue as a result.

But I just wanted to seek advice and see if others think this might be an issue and should I get it checked out? I'm still under warranty as I bought it earlier this year. Just to add, it's not a huge puddle but more than just drips and very noticable.

Looks like I may have gotten ahead of myself. Doing a little research, looks like KTM is involved with CFMoto in the motorcycles and not necessarily the Side by Sides.

I just stumbled on this article a few minutes ago. I wonder if CFMoto might be experiencing a domino effect and this is more of the reason why the rollout of the Zforce Z-10 has been pushed back...

Not completely sure about that connector on the right. It could possibly be for hooking up a horn. You would need the dash switch to activate it.

The 2 left ones connect together and then that box to the left of the connectors "ACC B+ B-" will be powered for accessories and such. The B- is ground, B+ is constant 12V, and ACC is only powered when ignition switch turned on.

Ok, looks like this is a bust too. I went ahead and jumpered the connector. Nothing happened. No dash illumination. I'm assuming something else needs to be done for this to work. I know when doing turn signals, a black 9 pin connector needed to be jumpered to supply power for rear turn signals to work through the rear "trailer" socket.

Well it looks like it is actual installed lighting fixtures and shows up in the diagrams event on the US models. I believe it is referred to as ambient lighting. In the parts list under the diagram for lights, the right side fixture is part #5BWV-160320-5000 and listed as Deco Part Dashboard. It's listed at $159.99. the left side fixture is part #5BWV-160310-5000 also listed as Deco Part Dashboard and is listed at $46.99

What really surprises me is it appears that these are actual light fixtures installed on these machines with no provision in US models to activate it.

Am I understanding this correctly?

Ok, I think I might be in the wrong track of what the function of that Illuminating switch is for.

I have seen on some videos where there is some light coming off dash just above the switches. It is right below the lip of the dash. I looked at mine and can see a thin whitish color plastic strip that runs almost the length of right side of dash and a smaller one on left side above the switches. I peeked behind the dash and saw that each side is connected to the main harness. The right side one is connected in the middle and the left side one has some kind of module attached to the side.

Now I'm wondering if the illumination switch activates the lighting in these? I guess the easiest way would be to jumper that connector I originally found but I'm worried about messing up something electrical if I'm wrong.

I really need to get a factory service manual so I can see the electrical diagrams...

There is a switch blank in the correct spot. Looking behind the dash, there is an unconnected 2 pin connector branching off the harness close to the hi/lo switch. The odd thing is I would normally assume there should be at least 3 wires because one position would illuminate running lights and one would also turn on headlights. So there would have to be a feed along with outputs for 2 different functions. It might be worth trying to see if it works.

Although maybe it's just a 2 position switch and it kills all lights or turns all lights on?

I know that the my 2023 already had the wiring in place to add a horn as well as turn signals. I have now done both. But I also noticed that the non US models (at least the Canadian models) also have a switch to turn headlights/marker lights off. I am including a photo of the Canadian model dash showing the switch. I believe it is called the Illumination switch. It will turn all the lights off, turn on just the running lights and finally turn all lights on. The switch is to the left of the Norm/Sport switch and the hi/lo headlight beam switch.

If I wanted to install this switch, is the associated connector and harness behind the dash?

It appears to be part #5ASV-169020-6001

Well it's done. Thanks to bobinmurphy for info and help sourcing parts, Jason over at https://www.kinnettickreations.com for more info and parts, and Larry of https://speckhobbies.com for some guidance on tips as well as sourcing even more parts, I was able to get additional rear running lights and turn signals in the spot where there was just reflectors. Like I mentioned above, had I found Larry's site earlier, I would have just bought his kit and installed that. Unfortunately,  I had already bought some of the main stuff from Jason (although I guess it was a good thing because his parts are good quality). Larry also has a great writeup similar to bobinmurphy but also includes many photos of the install. Look at the Install docs on his site and it is even available as a downloadable PDF.

As far as the hyper flashing, I think I solved it but not quite sure how. After I got the new rectangular lights for rear all wired up, I was still getting the hyper flashing with motor off. This time though when starting the motor, it would sometimes flash normal and sometimes hyper flash. I noticed that motor had a loping idle. Once the idle smoothed out and rpms were around 14-1500, it had a slow steady flash rate.

Very happy with how it turned out. Now I just have to tidy up the wiring and zip tie it out of the way in a couple spots.

Ok, I just came across some info that they hyper flash is somewhat common with using left or right turn signals on these machines even with rear signals wired in. But with motor running, they are supposed to flash normally just like the hazards. Right now, I still don't have the rear turn signal lights I am waiting on so fronts only. In my case, even with motor running, I get the hyper flash. So hopefully once the rear turn signals are installed and the circuit has a bit more load on it, the problem will correct itself. I will know one way or the other by mid next week. Otherwise I will try the solution that @bobinmurphy suggested in a PM and wire in some resistors. Fingers crossed that it corrects itself but based on my track record especially on this project, I'm not going to hold my breath, LOL.

I am still experiencing hyper flashing when using the turn signals even when I attached a temporary LED light to rear while testing. Hazards flash at a normal rate.

Is anyone else that has added turn signals experienced the hyper flashing?

I have seen this before when turn signal bulbs are replaced all around from incandescent to LED and the flasher unit isn't LED compatible. But the Zforce 800 at least seems like it was designed for LED lights front and rear so I would assume the flasher unit should be LED compatible? And with Hazards flashing normally, I'm confused why using turn signals causes hyper flashing.

The jumper worked. I got it plugged into the 9 pin black connector behind center dash and then checked for turn signal feed at the extra plug in harness I bought for grey trailer connector and now have live turn signal feeds in the rear. I tested it with the LED fixtures I was originally going to mount in rear and they flashed like they were supposed to. But instead of mounting those, I'm supposed to get the rectangular red lights that will replace the red rear reflectors so I will wait before I fully install the rear wiring.

I tested all the wire functions on that new harness from Kinnettick Kreations and everything was live except the reverse light feed. Checking further, there is no wire on vehicle side going in to the connector for that anyway.

If I had to start from scratch, I think I would have just ordered the rear kit from Speck Hobbies. I would have had everything I needed at one time. By sourcing out each of the components, it was cheaper but quite a bit of aggravation. What should have taken a short time over an afternoon has stretched into days as I discovered I needed more and more parts. I'm very happy to almost be done.

I ended up buying these ones
https://www.ebay.com/itm/201493559853
There seems to be slight size discrepancies on the various advertised ones on eBay. The ones I just bought are listed at 89mm x 35mm which should be a closer match to original reflector. The ones in last post are advertised as 84mm x 32mm which I think would be slight smaller than the OEM reflector. I am supposed to have it some time early next week.
