CForce 1000 / Re: 20 Hour/200 Mile First Service
July 17, 2023, 04:04:38 AMQuote from: big_john on July 16, 2023, 08:35:07 PMGood stuff, if its only the side panels and airbox its a 30 min job.Quote from: Cf1000 on July 16, 2023, 01:57:06 PM
2023 cforce 1000 EU model.
Mine has 600km 25 hours mostly on road, dealer hesitated to do the valves (no experience with atvs go figure), told me to do them at 2000km. I disagree, i will do them myself like i have done on my past can-ams (single cylinder=easy on those i had).
The cylinder to the back of the machine is easily accessible, the forward one is not. What needs to be removed? Every plastic on the front?
What is the spec for the valve clearances?Dealer wont give me the service manual..he treats it like some sort of state secret... go figure.
Did you replace the gaskets?
I have the 2023 CForce 1000 and the owners manual says to do the first service at 20 hours or 200 miles.
It would not have been good for me to wait until 2000 miles... as the front two exhaust valves were very tight.
I did not replace gaskets.... They seem to be designed to have several service cycles.
I removed the side plastics and the air box and the front cylinder was a little tight with my big hands, but I got the job done with the feeler gauges in short order.
This is probably the easiest machine I have ever worked on in my life. I am accustomed to motorcycles that can take a full 6-8 hours for a valve adjustment.
Thanks

CForce 1000 / Re: Do all 1000 Overlands have limited slip differentials?
July 16, 2023, 04:59:10 PMQuote from: NMKawierider on July 16, 2023, 02:27:46 PMIts an easy install and i dont need turf mode as you call it (or polaris calls it that dunno).
You should be able to do that. Funny..many here in the US wish they could have a limited slip or locker like the EU has.
All my machines so far had no rear diff, never had a problem.
Lsd rear diff kills 2wd off roading, especially low speed obstacle traversing, the machine hesitates on every obstacle while one rear wheel starts spining till the lsd engages then the machine goes.
Very annoying, the first time i thought something was broken lol.
edit: Not to mention that my part costs 6 times as much, if i end up doing the surgery ill put it up for sale.

EU overlands and cforce1000 in general come with lsd on the rear OR manual locking diff like the front but NO solid axle like the us.
Mine is a 2023 model cforce 1000 and it has an lsd on the rear diff. I must admit its a bit annoying.
Attached is a no diff diagram and the clutch pack/lsd diff.
I might convert mine to a solid axle like the US spec.
Swapping the clutch pack for the 21 numbered part that bolts on the ring gear is the only difference as far as i can tell from the part numbers.

CForce 1000 / EPS quits with front diff lock engaged
July 16, 2023, 02:05:46 PM
Hello all,
Quick question, cforce 1000 2023 (EU):
When the front diff is locked i lose most (if not all) of the power steering range when in a standstill.
Sometimes i can turn the the wheels a little bit (just a tad of the full range), other times there is no power steering at all.
Imagine being stuck somewhere nasty and having no way to turn the front wheels but to brute force it, and even then it might not be possible.
Can reproduce it in my garage, just lock everything, eps just quits or moves the wheels just a tiny bit.
On all of my previous canams eps worked all the time, everytime.
Normal 4wd eps works as expected, full range of motion.
Lock the front diff and the eps is gimped.
No faults or mils on the dash. Is this normal on cfmotos?
Any way to have eps functioning all the time, everytime?
Someone on fb replied that cutting a wire to ecu (similar to low gear speed limiter bypass) allows eps to function everytime, although hes not sure which wire it is.
Any input?
Thanks.
