General Discussion / Blown Bearing?
December 10, 2021, 01:39:40 AM
Hey folks,
Purchased a 2022 CForce 800XC about a month ago.
Today I noticed grease in the right rear wheel hub which seems to be coming from the bearing!? I know a bearing can squeeze out extra grease sometimes, but this much on a new bike with 195 miles on it??

It is unlikely they will even check them on this first service...don't get me wrong..they should be. And you should know how just to save some money on this. However checking and setting CFM valve lash is no different then any other with lash adjustments on the rockers so...If they do Kawasaki, Yamaha or any other with this type..don't worry, only someone that has NEVER set valves could screw it up.

I have done valve lash settings before on my old bike. On this one, because it's under warranty, I have no choice but to have the dealer do it. At least that is the case in Canada, I think the rules are more liberal in the USA in this regard.

General Discussion / Break In Service
November 29, 2021, 02:13:20 PM
 Hi Gang,
I have a dilemma that I need some opinions on.
Have a new 800XC that is approaching 20hrs. The dealer I bought from (10 mins away from me), just got the CFM Franchise. I called them to book an appointment and they remarked that this will be the first CFM they will work on. For the oil and fluid changes, I am not worried as that is very standard stuff. However, they need to check valve clearances. Not sure how comfortable I am with a dealer who has never done this before on a CFM bike. My other alternative is a dealer 1hr away from me, but they have had the CFM franchise for 3+ years, and are well acquainted with the machines.

Do I play it safe and travel for 1hr, or take a leap of faith and give it to the new dealer?
I have trust issues - so this decision is not an easy one for me :(

General Discussion / Break In Maintenance
November 16, 2021, 01:39:25 PM
Hi Folks,
Is it a requirement by CFM Canada to have the break in maintenance done at the dealer?
I am more than capable of doing it all on my own - but I don't want to risk warranty legalities in the process. Dealers and MFR's will always try and find an 'out' where they can in the event of an issue...

General Discussion / Acceleration Pause/Stutter
November 06, 2021, 07:14:39 PM
Hello,
I have a new 2022 800XC.
Picked it up this past Tuesday. I have about 3.5hrs of operating time and have noticed a strange occurrence over the past few times I have rode the bike (all riding to this point has been on pavement as I am breaking in the motor for the first 3-5 hours in on-road conditions). The oddity I am experiencing is as follows:
From a dead stop, when taking off under very light throttle - the bike will start to move and then for just a brief moment (like a quarter of a second or less), there is a pause and then the bike resumes normal accel. Its similar to running a machine on an almost empty gas tank, where the fuel supply is cut off momentarily and then returns once the fuel swishes back and continues feeding the gas line (my gas tank is full).
After that initial pause the acceleration is normal at all RPMs (there is no delay, pause or interrupted power delivery after the initial take off one as described).
The situation only happens immediately following take off when applying light throttle. From a full stop but under harder accel I can still hear/feel the slight cut off but its virtually unperceptable though still there even but very faint and hardly noticeable.
Is this normal, or a symptom of the EVAP system maybe?
By all other accounts the bike runs perfectly.
At a loss as to what this could be - and wondering if the bike needs to have the ECU re-flashed, or could this be a sign of a bad or faulty TPS?

General Discussion / Cargo Box Attachment
November 04, 2021, 01:10:26 AM
Hello CFM peeps,
Does anyone know where I can get a small cargo box that fits on the passenger seat mounts, when the passenger seat is removed?
Reason being twofold...I want a bit of storage add-on without adding a bulky bin/box on the racks.
Secondly - the absence of the passenger seat leaves a very unsightly attachment mechanism with lots of open spaces for things to either come up through, or go down in.
Here is a picture of what I am looking for, as seen on the CF Moto Mud Edition a few years back.

Introduce Yourself and Your Ride / First Time CFM Owner
November 02, 2021, 04:45:51 PM
Hello folks
First time CFM owner - picking up my bike tomorrow (2022 CForce 800XC).
Had and still have my reservations about CFM...but all signs point to massive improvements over the past few years. To that end, time will tell.
Good to be part of the CFM entourage, let the fun begin!
