OK. That seems high too.

Older CFMoto single cylinder engines are spec'd at 1300-1500 RPM.

The manual for 2021 600:

    https://cfmotousa.com/portals/0/2021-CFORCE-600.pdf

says  "Engine idle speed: 1500 rpm ±150 rpm (engine at operating temperature)" (page 132).  Engine idle is controlled by the ECU, so I'm not sure what to think.

It's probably fine, but  I think you are justified in your observations even though they may be normal for this machine. I would have raised an eyebrow too.

My  preference would be to get the idle adjusted, and add some weight to the rollers if engagement RPM is too high (abrupt) and shift out is too slow.

But first priority is to just enjoy the machine :-)

Good luck.

I just took it on a ride near where I lived. Went over steep snow covered hills no problem. I tested it in low get up to 20 mph. And to be honest after about 10 mph it seemed like it was great! I guess where the speed was low the high rpm scared me but I mean I love this freaking thing! Can't complain. I got some heated grips on the way can't wait!

Fair enough.  What RPM does it idle at?

In park/low I was idling just under 2000 rpm.

Update 2:

Just talked to a 3rd separate service department. And the guy just got back from a CF Moto school. He said they are geared that high and that is how they are supposed to run. He said they shouldn't even engage till 3000 RPM.

So I guess everything is ok. Just strange.

What CFMoto is saying is essentially true. These engines are designed to spin fast and pull in the powerband.
And using low gear for slow travel will extend belt life.

It's the comments about CVT and belt break-in I take issue with. The weights don't get heavier by themselves, and the springs shouldn't give up tension on their own either.

What concerns me is the particular speed/gear to RPM ratio.

The problem for me is that you don't need to be in the powerband for a 15mph cruise on the flats in high gear. Low gear sure, but not high gear.

Maybe this particular machine is deliberately engineered to behave this way. Tell me, are you running 5000RPM at 30MPH cruise in high gear on the flats? And at what RPM does the CVT grab and start moving the machine?

This is all stuff I would have to test. I might take it out today and check it out. But if my memory serves me correctly. I was going about 32 mph tops and it was still around 5000. And the low gear on this even at low speeds it seems like the motor is really loud. I'll see if I can makea video and post it.

I also contacted cf moto usa about the issue. This was their response.

Thank you for contacting CFMOTO-USA:

If this is your first vehicle with a CVT system, what you are experiencing is completely normal. The CVT governs the vehicle speed and RPM based on throttle input and load, and its intent is to keep the engine in its powerband.

If you are using low gear, this effect is more noticeable than if using high gear. Do not be afraid of the engine RPMs. This is what the vehicle is designed to do.

Also, do not use high gear to keep the engine RPMs artificially low. This will heat the CVT belt and cause it to wear prematurely. Any constant speeds under 20 mph should be done in low gear.

Enjoy your vehicle!

That's nuts.  I don't believe it. First time I've ever heard of such a thing.

A CVT doesn't need a break-in period.

The engine does, and the recommendation is to keep it under 4500 rpms for the first 10 hours or so, which is impossible with your current machine.

Keep us posted.

I agree but literally 2 different service departments about 1 hour from each other said the samething. I mean what do I do?

Update:

So I spoke with 2 service departments near me and they said it's completely normal for up to 5000 rpm on High gear till the belt and machine break in.

Just talked to someone that has a Cforce 600. He said that it's a common issue and it will go down once the machine breaks in. He did some minor modifications to his. Changed the spark plugs, stage 2 uni air filter, and new exhaust tip.

I am still going to call the dealer and see if they will look it over.

I guess I'll call the dealer Tuesday and see what they say. Hopefully I can drop it off and they can have it for a while to fix it. However just stinks that it's brand new.

I took it for a ride. In high gear. This is what I found.

Hopefully I can call the dealer and see if they can check it out. Because this all should fall under warranty.

I will call them probably Tuesday. Like I said I don't remember how high it was when I was going about 20-30 mph. But I do want to think it was high around 5000 or so.

So I just bought a 2021 Cforce 600 touring and I love the machine. However I notice that my rpms are a little high. Around 5000 rpm for just about 3-15 mph. I haven't looked at them much more than that. But I remember it's always sounded like it was wound tight. Is that normal? I'm new the cvt transmissions so that could also be it. Just looking for feedback.
