ZForce 800 EX, 53 & Trail / a few questions ?
February 14, 2023, 06:52:44 PM
I have a 2018 Z force 800 trail and i'm digging thru the internet
alot of the time for parts, things that make doing stuff easier and
just things in general for it.
I see alot of stuff that say's z force 800 trail / z force 800 ex.
Are these the same machine? If not what's the difference?
Been looking at the wheel bearing greaser on ebay.Does anyone use
this if so which one?Dont want to order the wrong one.
What is the advantage of the 1/2 windshield?
Thank you ....Bob

General Discussion / Re: Enclosed trailer choice!
February 02, 2023, 07:21:15 PM
When i went to pick up my 800 trail i took a enclosed trailer.Went to load it and the trailer was not tall enough.
Ended up taking the top off to get it loaded. It was easy to do and didn't take long.
Just a pain in the rear.Make sure you get one tall enough.

I guess i will need to pull the steering wheel off and take a
look. The one with the flat bottom is what i want to change to.Seems like i've

General Discussion / changing the steering wheel?
October 18, 2022, 06:47:09 PM
I have been looking at aftermarket steering wheels so i can replace the stock one on the machine.2018 cf moto zforce trail 800.
I've seen several i like and i know a few of you have changed yours.
When changing it do i need an adapter for the new one,and should i get a puller or do it the old school way.
Any kind of info would be of major help.Any certain brand of steering wheel
should i get..........Thanks......bob

Changed the oil and put the spin on oil filter adapter from RPM yesterday.
Followed all the instructions and information i've gotton off the forum and it all went good.
Had no problems with anything being in the way of the filter.
I put in the 3 quarts an started the engine let it run for about 5 minutes to let it cycle thru. When i checked it the dip stick said full.I did it again and same thing.I guess the spin on filter doesen't hold that much oil.
It just seems weird.
The filter is the Baldwin B 1406 that came  with the adapter.
What other filters can i use or will interchange.

I went back to the old forums when you were starting out doing this oil adapter venture.Lots of good information posted.
I did see a part to where you say Do NOT use a cf moto filter rubber off the canister cause it's a bit sloppy. You suggest getting the can am filter and useing the rubber off of it cause it fits snugger.
When i orderd the oil for the machine i ended up getting a oil change kit.
It came with crush washer, the cap big O ring and a canister oil filter.
Any reason i shouldn't use those rubber pieces?
I feel like i'm being a pain in the --- asking all these questions.I just don't want to not do this right and mess the motor up.

The spin on oil filter adapter from MR,Rpm came today.I'm a very happy camper.
I 'm going to change the oil and install it later this evening.
As far as what rubber seals to use it came with instructions so no worry there.
I figure that with the spin on filter it's going to take extra oil.
I know alot of you have added this to your machines. How much extra oil am i going to add?How many quarts total?
Thanks to all that have helped me with this project.Your the best.

General Discussion / Oil dip stick pipe?
September 25, 2022, 01:44:57 PM
Since the oil dip stick is a problem to get to when checking the oil i seen the long oil dip stick pipe and orderd it with the dip stick and rubber gaskets.Part #0800-14420
It didn't take long to install on the machine. But for some reason when i screw in the
dip stick i fill that i have to go at a slight angle or the plastic on the dip stick wants to cross thread.
I eventully get it screwd in and tight but with that small hole after the cover is removed the back of my hand takes a beating on the left valve cover bolt.
Has anyone put a oil exstenion tube on thier machine?
And any problems with cross threading?I'm thinking i need to get a new dip stick?

I'm getting ready to order the spin on oil filter adapter from mr.RPM for my 2018 800 trail.
I figured while i was at it i would order a oil filter for a Rotax 800 for the rubber piece and
a rubber for the cover so i can start with all new rubber seals.
Since some have done this mod ,is there anything else i might need?

I'm going to go ahead and order the adapter.I have gone back into the forums and noticed a few things on this subject and need to make sure i order the correct stuff or whats needed.
Do i need to order a canister type filter for the can am 800 for the rubber piece and use it?
Or can i use the one of my current filter?
Do i need to order the bigger O ring for the adapter.
I could just order the oil change kit of of e bay and get every thing ill need
i just won't use the canister filter.I want to do this right so i don't have
any problems.

Just got off the phone with Mr.Rpm and asked some questions. The person i spoke with said that he has heard of guys with cfmotos useing the spin on oil filter adapter.
But he couldn't confirm it nor say anything about how they fit .
I guess the price has gone up $105.00 with filter plus shipping.Don't know if thats a decent price or not.
But it's not like other companys have the adapter.

I see the same thing also.Where i'm at in Idaho you can ride atvs or side x sides in town.
Alot of Can ams and polaris. But when i go to the mountains i see people on thier cfms.
I guess thier starting to catch on.The 800 seems to be the popular one.

NMK.Thank you for the information. When i get the adapter which will be in a few weeks i
will check it out and if i have any more questions i'll get back to you.
While reading the thread on this i noticed that someone said the rubber off a wix brand stock filter was the better? I'm wanting to do this the correct way and not have any problems in the future.
We have an ACE hardware here in Weiser,Idaho that i might be able to match the rubber gromet to.I guess once i get the part and look at it closely i'll understand more of what your saying........Thanx
