Thanks NMK for the info but I was also looking for some input from the members  Good or Bad  with there experience with the belts you mentioned, so I could make an informed decision on which belt would be best.  Again Thanks

ZForce 800 EX, 53 & Trail / 2017 Z800 trail Drive belt
September 09, 2023, 01:28:43 PM
Hi have been a member for a number of years. I own a 2017 Z800 trail wet clutch. I drive in dust a lot and forest roads, I am going to change the drive belt but the OEM is some what on the high side of pricing, cheapest I have found is 229.00 I guess my question is has anyone found a belt that is as good or better than the OEM, I have read many have installed cheaper belts but they don't last. So if anyone has found a reliable belt let me know and thanks for any replies.

Thought I would post a picture of my filter after a 100 mile ride through powder dust, dirt roads and very dusty gravel. I never expected the results to be this good.  With out a doubt the particle separator does work.

As for the clamps role cage question the best I can do is give the links to S&B  I myself installed the same exact unit as pictured on this post and it fit with out any mods. to the roll cage,  in fact I used the there inch extensions to raise my unit up. I have a post in the Z800 with pictures under "air intake".

check these links. Then open install instructions or the video. Hope this helps.

To answer the question of how load they are they have an exhaust fan built in which does make some noise here is a link to the spec.

Hi  That looks great I just installed the same exact system on my 800 trail but I went in from the back, does take up a little room but decided that the hose was 3.5" and didn't want it in my way in the front. Question have you taken it out and tested it in dust yet? I am possibly going next week to a really dusty area in Idaho should prove if the system does what I hope for.  I know that NMK is going to install one.

Hi NMK the reason I changed my rubber gasket and spring clips, I have removed the air box cover so many times to check the filter condition because of the dust. The spring clips were going on so easy that most of the tension was gone, not sure if it was the rubber gasket or the clips but went ahead and changed both and for some extra insurance I will use the grease. What is really troubling to me is CF MOTO could step up there game by installing a great air system adding a few hundred to the cost and end the headaches and cost that we all go through modifying the exiting one.  Have a great day

Thanks for the reply on the grease, going to pick up a tube. Anything that helps to keep the dust from entering the intake is worth a try.

Hi there cr2crf from Meridian, Yes I bought my 800 from Birds of Prey I agree air intake sucks.  I'm installing a Particle Separator From S&B should been done soon going to proof test on one of dirtiest runs "Around Arrow Rock Dam" and then check the results and post them on the forum. One thing I have found and I think NMK made a comment on the air box seal is not that great and I agree with him. I ordered a new
rubber gasket and spring clips from Alpha sports what a difference in the way it feels going on. I like a lot of other people thought these parts would last the machines life "Wrong" Well hope your air intake works out.

Hi NMK I checked out all the particle Separators and the YXZ seems to be the best option for the Z800 so I ordered it and should have it by 5 June.  Will let you know how the install goes, I realize it will take some Modification but will be worth it.

Thanks for the reply NMK, After my last run in the Idaho foot hills my filter was so dirty I figure My power was decreased by 25% or more and I had to end my ride before complete air starvation and possible damage. So rather then chance that again Mod. the system with a Particle Separator and extend engine life, $400. is a lot cheaper than a new engine. Not sure which version I will purchase need to investigate my options and go from there. Again thanks for the input.

Hi   Has anyone installed a Particle Separator on the air intake system of there Z800, they claim it can add more power and also eject 94% of dust. I talked to the Rep. at SBFILTERS.COM this is what he had to say.
All of the UTV Particle Separators have the same capacity and it's plenty to support that 800cc engine. The mounting and ducting is what's different, and is vehicle specific. We don't make a kit for a CFMoto, but you're welcome to buy a kit and adapt it to fit. Usually people figure out which way they want the clean air to exit, driver, center, or passenger.
There are guys in my utv club that have installed them of course they have Polaris machines they claim cuts filter changes by half or better.
Here is the web page look under Particle Separator then UTV.      https://www.sbfilters.com/particle-separator/polaris-rzr-900-76-2002
