I'm curious/confused about tire sizes on the 2023 Gen 2 Trail 800.  Mine has 26x8xR14/26x9xR14 front/rear that came when I bought it.  The maintenance manual also shows these are the "correct" sizes.

BUT if I check the CFMoto web pages for specifications, some pages show 26x9xR14/26x11xR14 front/rear while other pages and many dealer sites, which appear to copy some of the CFMoto web pages, call for the 26x8xR14/26x9xR14.

Even more confusing, specs on the 2024 version indicate they come with 26x8xR14/26x9xR14, and the Gen1 specs (2022) indicate they used 26x9xR14/26x11xR14s.

When looking for replacement tires it appears that 26x8xR14s are pretty rare with very few options. I assume the only real difference is tire widths.  So my questions:  Are the two different sets of specs basically interchangeable, i.e. can I replace the originals with the wider ones?  If so are there any other changes I'd have to make, like rims?  I assume I wouldn't have to make any gearing changes as both sets are 26", is that correct?  Anything else I should consider here?

Thanks

ZForce 800 EX, 53 & Trail / Overhead Storage bag
July 11, 2024, 01:59:07 PM
Saw a post in the  ZForce 950/1000 Sport & EX discussion group about an overhead storage bag.  Checked the web site and discovered they have bags that also fit the Zforce 800. They have a bag for the Gen 1 (pre-2023) and Gen 2 (2023+).

I ordered the one that said it fit the 2023 Zforce 800 and it fit perfectly.

BTW, contact Dave on their site if you have any questions or concerns.  He's very helpful and very quick to respond and ship new orders.

If you're looking for a rear window mesh screen that fits the 2023 ZForce 800 Trail G2 (Gen2), I found this one on Amazon that's a perfect fit at a pretty reasonable price.  It looks kind of small coming out of the bag, but when you install it with the supplied bungie cords it fits nice and tight without any wrinkles or flapping in the breeze.

This is my writeup for making my ZForce 800 Trail street legal, which involves installing horn and turn signals.  According to my Service Manual the 950 Trail and 950 Sport Gen2 are all common with the 800 Trail, so I suspect the same installation procedures would apply.

Minor update clarifying location of connectors in right rear quarter panel.

Additional update adding info on street legal tire upgrades and wiring for license plate light and trailer wiring.

Minor update to correct color of flasher connector under dash.

Corrected part numbers listed for connectors.

Updated horn parts list for a less expensive CFMoto horn kit.

Trying to get turn signals installed on this UTV. Got the CFMoto parts for the flasher, turn signal switch and hazard lights and installed them. Get front turn signals and hazard lights but nothing in the rear.  Quick probe on the trailer connector shows no signals there either.  Checking the wiring diagram it shows lines in the harness going from the flasher to the light assemblies front and rear though.  Is there a plug someplace in the harness that isn't connected in by default, or are the rear lights not wired up.  (There is a 3 pin  connector under the hood that isn't connected with a label that says "connect for power". Anyone know what that is for?)  Seems strange there's nothing on the trailer connector and even stranger still that everything else is in the harness and works - front turn signals, horn, etc.  Thanks in advance!

Just bought a new 2023 Gen2 Zforce Trail 800 and getting it all ready for a full week on the trails.  Built a small bracket to mount an extra gas can and refreshment cooler that mounts in the back.  Got my trail sticker for riding the trails I'm headed to and waiting on my Texas title so I can transfer the title to South Dakota and get it licensed to be street legal. (For those who don't know, Texas doesn't register or license UTVs for the street, but they honor valid registrations from other States.)

Working on getting my US version converted to a Canadian version by adding turn signals, horn and getting it licensed so I can easily get from campground to trail head.  If anyone is interested, I've put together the list of the CFMoto parts needed to do this (it's pretty much plug-and-play).  So far I've got everything plugged in and working except I'm not getting rear turn signals to light up.  I suspect it's a missing fuse or an unplugged connection in the wire harness but I haven't tracked it down yet.  The front turn signals work, the hazard flasher works, the horn works, etc.
