Recently I have lost at least half power when entering water maybe 1.5' deep my machine is snorkelled. I ended up getting water into the clutch the first time I figured my complete power loss must have been due too that but doubted it. Found the exhaust melted the snorkel at a seam. So redid them completely and used plenty more exhaust wrap on both the exhaust and the snorkel piping. But since I have still had a problem, crossing water I'll loose power, can't get any rpm out of it even in neutral thus causing me too become "stuck" the injector light will come on and stay on. But while being pulled out it gets too a point of about that 1' 8" roughly all power comes back 100% and away I go like nothing happened. I turn the key off for a few seconds start it back up and light goes out. I've check the plug wires, all connections I can possible find. I'm stumped. Has annoying had a similar experience or have any idea what els I could check? I've tried spraying it with water running in the shop with the fire hose not being able too duplicate the problem.

General Discussion / 2018 zforce 800 fuse locations
February 10, 2019, 02:48:11 PM
Well I am stumped. Looking for the fuses on our zforce. They are not beside the steering column like out last one. There are 2 under the seat like our last one tho but I need to find the others. Long story but this is why. Was sitting outside for the last 2 weeks work average temp of -36 and as low as -45 Celsius. I went to start it yesterday was only -26 usually starts no problem we'll she was dead as a door nail. No problem that's to be expected. So I put the charger on it. Little while later go try it and she fired up. Let it warm up about 15-20 min was going to use it to pull a sled into my garage went to use the winch and it killed the machine dead instantly. Figured the batterie must have been part froze still. So boosted with a lawnmower batterie I had charged and warmed up, the cunt wouldn't stay running no I had to Rev it up to keep it running. So I set the screw on the peddle to keep it just running. Let it run for about another 20 min because in the meantime it cooled, went back out to use it and now the dam thing is overheating, fan not working winch still not working. So left my project shuffled things out of the garage brought the zforce in and left it overnight with the heat cranked and the batterie charger on it. Well this morning she fired up perfect and was idling at 3-4000 rpm so backed the screw off on the pedal, let it run, while running I checked the coolant, all the coolant is gone from the rad, looked outside in the snow where it overheated and there was none out there. Only took maybe 1 littler to top it up but the fan is still not kicking on. The winch I dunno what was going on with it but after screwing around it works now. So pulled all dash panels looking for fuse box can't find it, pulled the seat to check them two under there while it was running and boom it died, would start and die right away wiggling the one fuse it found it is causing the dying thing. But now my main concern is where are the rest of the fuses and relays???

How To's (New Topics are to be Instructional Only) / DIY brake pad relinning
October 26, 2018, 02:39:57 PM
Found a place that sells rolls of brake / clutch lining material. Ordered a 6' roll of 1" wide by 3/16 thick was $22 going to try re line my brake pads. Found a guy on a arctic cat forum that did the same thing and has ahad great luck so far. Will be binding the material with JB weld and let cure in a vice for 24-48 hr. The site to get the material from is http://www.mcmaster.com/
Will continue updating as I go once the material arives. I figure what the hell 26$ to try this or 240$ for new pads up here in Canada. For how terrible the Cfmoto pads are ide be happy if the diy ones last 200km for the price difference. The factory ones only made it 320km I believe it was.

ZForce 800 EX, 53 & Trail / Engine brake
May 24, 2018, 11:32:38 AM
Well me and the wife recently traded the 2016 500 zforce in on a 2018 zforce 800 exp. love it so far except one thing. The engine brake is non existent and with the insane price of pads for these things mixed with the extrem short life I am against using the foot brake unless absolutely needed. So has anyone experience this? Looking for a remedy. When we are driving say 30-40km and let off we just coast where with the old 500 we would come to a stop reletively quick at the same speed. The one of the biggest selling points on this machine and it's dissapointing at best

ZForce 500/550 / Mill light and engine oil pressure light
December 10, 2017, 08:51:11 AM
So finnaly got the machine back after getting the front diff replaced. Got it home checked all the oil levels, installed new roof new seats, loaded up went out to the forest to hunt some grouse and do some fishing. After a couple hours parked on a hill nose pointing down, seen front tire was flat, hooked up air compressor and went to start the machine. Wouldn't start and %100 flooded itself within seconds of cranking. Kept cranking and eventually started, filled tire and went on our way. Stopped one more time same situation downhill no start. THEN we were driving downhill and the mill light come on and the machine went into limp mode and died. Started fine
Away we went and again downhill and the mill, and oil pressure light came on and it died. Started fine got
Level checked oil expecting it to be low and it was a smidge over max so definitely no issue there. The coolant was below minimum topped with water and never had a issue again. And no it wasn't overheating and th fan was running fine. So my question is: is there a level sensor for the coolant? I don't see one but i also don't see anything els wrong. Why would my oil pressur light come on for low coolant if that is what it was? It's 2016 z 500

ZForce 500/550 / 2016 zforce 500 water pump
October 06, 2017, 01:28:40 PM
Well my machine is yet again at the dealer. I'll start from the beginning and try to keep the long story short. I bought a 2016 zforce 500 ho off the showroom floor, was leaking coolant from the weep hole from day 1 dealer said it was normal. 3 months later it was getting worse and worse, never overheated thankfully always kept coolant with me. Took it to the dealership, they had it for 3 months, while they had it they apparently installed the wrong water pump 3x and overheated the engine all 3 times until it shut down ( told me they shut down automatically before they get too hot) after the 3 long months got my machine back, had it for 1 day found the wrecked my stator, took it back they had it for 2 weeks, got it back all was great had it 3 days took it out and 5 min into riding I could smell coolant and oil, turns out my cylinder and head were warped from the over heating. Took it back, the dealership had it for 9 months, in that 9 months they claim to have rebuilt it 3x with no success, sent the engine to Quebec where they are made in Canada here, got the engine back put it in and same problems.. oil and coolant leaking, 2 weeks later I made my daily call of "is my machine done yet" and they said no they gave up on it come get a new one. They give me a "new" machine that's been sitting outside over a year, all seats and plastics faded and water loged, whatever I get a new machine hope for the best. Pick up the new one have it for almost a month with no problems. Then the water pump started leaking.... and the thermo switch quit (and no I never overheated it I shut it down once my temp gauge read 1 bar higher than usual and I noticed the fan wasn't on so towed it back home and took it in they claimed they had all the parts at the dealership and now knew what to do. Well it's been there 2 months... I'm a Heavy duty mechanic so I know how to fix things myself it's just the fact that it's under warranty, but my question is does anyone know the fix for the water pump? I want my machine back I have been paying for over a year on and only had it a small percentage of that time. I'm sick of it I'll get the parts take my machine back from the dealer and do it myself if anyone wants to email me they can at [email protected]
Thanks for any replys

ZForce 500/550 / Exhaust glowing red at idle
March 11, 2017, 10:17:55 AM
I have a 2016 zforce 500 ho. Just got back from the dealer for a water pump update. In there story is says they did a valve adjustment. Weather that has anything to do with it or not I don't know. This dealer is a absolute p.i.a to deal with. I'll try attatch a video.
Looking for ideas what could cause it. It's got a brand new air filter also

ZForce 500/550 / 2016 Zforce 500 modifications
March 07, 2017, 11:13:16 AM
Hello new to the forum. I have a 2016 zforce 500 and am having a lot of troubles finding any info on anything about it lol. I have spent hours seaching this forum and have found a few things that I must do such as relocating air filter and battery. But I have a few questions.
1st is there any tricks to adjust clutch for some more torque? Would definitely like to get rid of some top speed and gain some bottom end.
2nd how about exhaust upgrade? Only thing I can think of is to make my own.
3rd how about a "chip" / programmer or new injector or anything of the such.
And my 4th has nothing to do with power but will the 800 arched control arms fit my 500??
We mainly use the machine for hunting80% of the time. Taking my dogs for a run the other 20% so it's very rarely slow going and would be nice to have the pulling power when need be.
Thanks in advance any and all Info is much appreciated.
