General Discussion / Water temp gauge?
May 22, 2026, 09:06:02 PM
I have a 2018 cfmoto z force 800.It's hard at times to see
the water temp gauge when the sun is blasting me in the eyes.So i thought
i would hook up a real temp gauge and go with that.
Plus it would be nice to know how hot it's running.
I have looked at ebay and a few other places and i'm not sure which
one to get.
Has anyone switched gauges with a real one and did it do what you
were wanting.Plus i don't need nothing that is going to be a pia to
install.I just think knowing how hot the motor is running would
be a plus. The factory gauge has never gone past 3 bars.
Thier are so many choices out there it's kinda rough to get some
thing good.

General Discussion / It won't stay running. Please help
October 03, 2024, 07:22:54 PM
I took the 2018 zforce 800 to the drive in at the bank.I turned it off to hear the teller
but didn't turn the power off.
I went to start it about 3 minutes later and it wouldn't turn over ....I'm thinking battery.
I had my Daughter and Son n Law come and jump me.
When they jumped me the buggy would start, once the jumper cables were disconnected it would die.
We tried this a few times and same thing.
My son n law seems to think it's the alternator that's gone bad.I think the battery has seen better day's.The brand of battery it it now is YUSA.

General Discussion / Wheel bearings..Front and rear.
September 14, 2024, 12:29:35 PM
I figure since imm doing my A arm bushings on the 2018 zforce trail 800
i might as well replace the wheel bearings.Plus i will take a look at the U joints
and carrier bearing.
I did look thru 99% of the forum posts looking for part #s for the wheel bearings but found very little i could use.
I'm sure that alot of you have replaced your wheel bearings.
If you would share the part #s for both front and rear that would sure help.Is thier a size difference in the bearings? Thank you very much    Bob

After spending a great deal of time on the computer looking for
a place that sells A arm bushings for the cfmoto zforce and uforce
i finally found one. This is what they have bushings for.
2019-2022 U force 1000
2013-2022 U force 800
2016-2021 U force 500
2015-2022 Zforce 800 trail and ex
2016-2022 Zforce 500
They also sell what looks like a wheel bearing.
They are polyurathane and come with the steel spacer.
The price is a bit stiff at $350 plus shipping.
I myself think this is a decent price considering they come
with the steel sleeve.Plus no cutting or glueing and messin around
getting some thing else to fit.
.Here is the information.
dkoffroad.ca      780-238-3684 I hopes this helps .

General Discussion / A arm bushings and steel rod?
August 27, 2024, 08:46:52 PM
I was suppose to have replaced my A arm bushings last year 2018 zforce 800 trail about this time.
Never happend, didn't even order the parts. Some things are beyond our control and
happen.
Anyway.....I'm going to try this again.
I went back and looked at alot of old posts of others useing polaris bushings after they were modified,I do not want to go that route.
I've spent the last few days looking for a complete bushing kit with the metal inner rod that goes into the bushing.Thier are not alot of choices pickins are very slim.
This is what i found.
Ali express has a complete kit bushing and rods at a decent price, shipping is a bit stiff but what ya gonna do.The bushings are black in color which makes me think they could be the cheap ones that came stock.
The other ones are the blue or what ever color that is and are polyurethane which from what i read are the way better ones.I do know that if i could find Delrins that would be the way to go.The polyurethanes do not come with the steel sleeve and i would like to replace them.
Not finding them i'm guessing i'm going to buy a steel pipe and cut my own.
Now a few posts that i seen from the past others have gone this direction with succes.
Does ANYONE know of a supplier that has the pipe or where i can get the rods .
NMK..........You gave me the size of pipe i will need last year, both OD and ID for the bolt.
Could you please do it again,i cant find my notes.
Sorry for such along post.

I thought that this would be a good subject, plus i'm curious. And where do you live.
I live in Weiser,Idaho and it's legal to operate a quad or SxS on the city streets and around town in general.
Certain rules you are suppose to follow to be 100% legal.
I use mine to make short trips to the hardware/grocery store ,the burger joints in town and to the river and parks to run my dog.Plus 3 miles from me are dirt roads that take you to the back side of a lake.
I find it much easier useing the buggy to get around town in than my truck.Plus way better on gas.And as always my smaller dog who is a schnorgi is always in the other seat,he thinks the buggy is his.
Weiser isn't a big town at all so getting around is real easy.

General Discussion / New Mexico fire.
June 20, 2024, 08:51:57 PM
Been seeing on the news that parts of N M are on fire.My first thought was about N M K
and hoping that he was ok and safe.
I hate to see these fires destroy and take every ones all they have busted thier hump for.But loss of life in these fires is worse ,stuff can be replaced.
My heart goes out to these people and others.

Since i've had my buggy and been on the forums i've noticed alot of information and such that others have posted.I decided to put together a book with alot of this usefull
stuff for the future to go back to when needed.
What i need to know is this.
Just like cars different years makes and models our buggys parts and so on will interchange.
If it isnt to much trouble what years, makes and models will interchange with each other when it comes to the buggy.
Mine is a 2018 z force 800 trail. Thank you very much ,and yes i have to much time on my hands.I have gone thru the forums and gotten what i can.

Information Center / putting a small list together
June 18, 2024, 03:07:05 PM
I have been going thru the all the cf moto forums that i can find in hopes of putting information together about my buggy.
What i mean is making a booklet that i can refer to when i need parts or just general
information. This way i just go to my book.
I have read a gang of posts and write ups about the z force and find it to be interesting as to what fits and dont.
Just like a car, parts and stuff from different years and models will interchange or work
on the year that you have.
What i have is a 2018 zforce trail and was wondering about interchange years and models?

General Discussion / Particle seperators.
May 07, 2024, 07:10:10 PM
Checking my air filter has gotten to be a P I A plus has gotten hard for me to do.But to make it easier i have been putting the loading ramps on my tailgate then backing the buggy up.It put's the air filter about chest high plus you have the tailgate as a work bench.
This weekend i got to checking out particle seperators anad found just the 2 that are made for off road.
They both have thier pro's an con's and are priced about the same.I did look for a cyclone type but couldn't find any.
I'm leaning towards the S&B cause the KWT is huge bulk wise and the limited space on the zforce 800 to put it.
I'm not to keen about the motor or where the extra dust dumps out with the S&B but that can be dealt with. Both have a 4'' hose which i think looks to big and ugly, maybe i can reduce it to a 3'' or 2 1/2'' with reducers.
With the KWT i like that the bottom snaps off to dump the excess dirt.
I did see an old post that NMK was looking at the S&Bs and wondering if you pulled the trigger on it?
I'm sure some of you have either or of these particle seperators and i would like to know why?plus how do you like it or do you not.Was it a pain to install and is the wireing on the S&B trickey.
This is a decent size investment $ wise plus i can't send it back if i try it and don't like it .
So i ask my fellow cfmoto people to please chime in.

General Discussion / Changing the steering wheel.
April 24, 2024, 08:18:37 PM
Just to personalize my 2018 cf moto zforce trail i have been doing and adding small things to it.
I just got the D shape carbon fiber looking steering wheel and want to change it in the next few days.I watched a u tube video of one being changed by the guy on red neck garage and it looked pretty straight forward. He did not use a new adapter.
Has anyone on this site changed thiers and did you have to use a adapter?
If so what kind and where did you buy it?
Thanks guys.    Steering wheel part # if anyone is interested. I got it off EBAY.

General Discussion / Adding brake fluid.
March 19, 2024, 07:44:05 PM
Now that the warmer weather is here it's time to look over the 2018 zforce 800 and get some things done.
I was looking at where the break fluid reservour is and what a dumb place to put it.
My ? is.......How do you add brake fluid when needed or is it just easier to take the front trunk out.I noticed 6 screws to remove .

General Discussion / Kawi brute force 750
October 03, 2023, 12:47:15 PM
I know this post (question)is off subject of cf moto.I was told it would be ok.I will do the short version.
Bought a 06 Kawi brute force 750 a few months ago.My son n law did the transaction cause i had other stuff to do.
He picks it up ,gets it home and first thing i do is check the oil ,it's barely reading on the dip stick.
Put some oil in it take it out for the day get back oil is low again.
Put it in the shop the guy couldn't find any leaks so he says.
a few days ago my son n law says the air  filter is real wet with oil.
I'm wondering what could possibly be wrong ?
I'm no mechanic but i'm thinking that the rings are bad and the air filter is getting blow by.
Any suggestions would help .

I have been searching for bushings for my sway bar.2018 c f moto z force trail 800.
I came across an old post from NMK with some red bushings.
Great post by the way.
I'm wondering if thier are any bushings or any thing i can use for the 2 sway bar links.I did find them on the the cf moto parts page for 50.00 each plus the shipping which we know is outrageous.
Plus i'm thinking on just buying a complete bushing kit but not the 299.00 one from the cfmoto parts house.
I needed to be pointed in the right direction to spend as less $ as
i need to.  Thanks guys
