First ride review.

  Took a spin today on the Cl-x from Iron Supply in katy texas. Alex the sales rep (if in texas give him a shout), had a hot one ready this morning for me to try. I'm 51 and been riding over 35 years.

The seat height was perfect for my short dumpy ass. Road handling was great, quick and responsive and dropped into curves perfectly. Switching to sport mode was easy and instant. The change in rpm behavior was impressive, but truthfully I am not seeing the point of the "sport" model. It's good looking but not enough changes to make the cost a reason for me to get the sport. The brimbo breaks are great and all, but unless on a track that tits on a pig.

Either way, a good solid ride. Enjoyed my 20 min spin on the CL-X.

Just curious. Looking to buy a 650 adventura and the sales catalog shows with crash guards and *optional hand guards. Are the crash guards still available? Im wanting to get the bike as a commuter and possible week end get away vehicle. I live in the piney woods of east texas and there are so many hog trails and back roads it just seems the best choice.
