ZForce 500/550 / 2021 ZForce 500 holes in cabin
August 04, 2022, 04:47:08 PM
The one thing I don't like about my 500 trail, are the holes all through the cabin.  Dust dirt, and rocks always enter the cabin from these holes and would clog up the seatbelt latches, retractor etc.  Imagine going for a ride, but then you can't undo the seat belt.  I contacted CFMoto and asked what they recommend.  They could only say there have been a lot of complaints and they are considering covering all the holes in later models.  So I've tried Sheetmetal with rivets.  Mostly worked.  I've tried metal duct tape.  Meh.  I'm going to try rubber mats next. Anyone over come this issue?  I have Dirt Specialties doors, and the poly front and rear windshields. Dust is big issue here. I got rid of the seatbelts and put in harnesses.  Much better and never get stuck.

ZForce 500/550 / Intake mods?
August 04, 2022, 04:39:39 PM
I have a 2021 ZForce 500 Trail.  I live in Utah and the soil on trails is powder fine so dust is a problem.  I've been watching RedNeck garage on Youtube.  Steve's Mod is moving the air intake box into the cargo area and adding a snorkel/stack up higher than the cab to keep it out of the dirt.  While I think the location of the air intake filter box is in a dumb place, I'm not sure this is the best solution.  I've been thinking of just reworking the actual intake between the seats so that it goes up higher than the seats in the cab.  Anyone else made any mods like this?  I looked into the KWT Prefilter, separator, and KWT told me, the 500 doesn't have the horsepower needed for the Separator to work which is why they don't offer one for the 500; even though my CFMoto dealer tried to sell me one.  Thoughts?

ZForce 500/550 / 2021 ZForce 500 Trail won't start
August 04, 2022, 04:26:26 PM
I bought this new last December.  Been running like a champ until the other day when came back from riding, it wouldn't idle.  I can crank it over IF I hold the peddle down  I know so I know it's getting fuel.  I hear the pump prime when I turn key and the power switch is on.  Any ideas? I'm mechanical but not a mechanic.
