CForce 800, X8 / Where is the diagnostics port?
February 17, 2023, 03:24:30 AM
Hello,

From my understandings there are some sort of diagnostics port for the Delphi ECU. Possibly a 3 or 6 pin plug, unlikely OBD2 on these older machines. CF moto refers to the diagnostics tool as PDA in the manual but doesn't mention where the port is located.

Did some sniffing yesterday but I could not find anything at first glance.

Anyone know where it is, if there are one?

CForce 800, X8 / Spacers for the X8
January 04, 2022, 07:42:27 AM
There are spacers for sale, but very little on the forums to find about it.

I found my 2012 X8 is about 2" wider in the front so wanted to start with making the rear 1" wider per side. I like the look of equal width.

I read a wider stance provides better road handling which makes sense. I also understand a wider vehicle needs more space on the trails.

Are there a sweet spot for spacers that makes it better all over or is it just up to you to descide?

Thinking if I add 1" spacers in the rear, I could get another set of 2" spacers later to swap in the rear and bring the 1" up front to keep my equal stance but with a total of 2" more width all over.  Makes sense?

Spacers need to be from metal, but I will 3D print a center piece for then to align the rims to the hub. Rims got a 63.5mm center bore and the nut on the driveshaft got a 36mm flange to center on. The 3D printed piece will only align stuff, not be carrying any loads. It would be like the plastic rings you click on aftermarket rims for your car, just shaped to fit this application.

General Discussion / Weak battery charging - upgrades?
December 13, 2021, 12:12:33 PM
Hello,

Hopefully I choose the right forum for this topic.  ;)

So it seems all ATV suffer from a fairly weak alternator setup. Specially when adding LED lights and using the winsch for snow plowing etc...  I simply find the alternator not having enough output even if it is in a good working condition. This is not a fault trace thrad but rather searching påtions to if there are any upgrades available? Thinking I have seen 850W stators for can-ams?! but for CF-moto I'm not sure?! I got a 2012 Terralander 800 but from what I understand the stator and rectifier are more or less the same between years.

Any input would be helpful.

Thanks!
