General Discussion / Zforce 950 broke frame
March 29, 2023, 11:47:22 AM
I had an accident with my 950.  crashed and tipped it over. Bent the upper roll bars and front bumper (most obvious damage).  When the local shop (where I purchased it) took some plastic off, they found the crack indicated in the pictures.  They are telling me that their only option is to replace the frame.  This would be hugely expensive.  They don't have the capability to repair it.  I feel the location is worthy of being repaired. Do I take this to a body shop for repairs or try another offroad shop?  Any advice would be appreciated.  I never got insurance...  so a couple mistakes happened - crash and no insurance.  I'll fix the latter after all this is done.  I'll take advice on insurance preferences too.

ZForce 950/1000 Sport & EX / Zforce 950 overheating
July 12, 2022, 12:52:40 PM
the driver of my 950 didn't notice that it was overheating until the coolant reservoir boiled over.  I determined the fuse was bad for the fan thus it wasn't working.  however, with new fuse and the fan running, it will still overheat while idling and seems to run hot when moving. What should I check next and what advice would anyone provide for any other worries?  For example, with the original overheating situation were other engine components damaged or degraded.  I only have 375 miles on it. It just went out of the 1 year warranty too...

I just purchased a 2018 Zforce 1000 with 650ish original miles.  The owner stated he just had a engine replace under warranty.  I'm not sure this has any bearing on this issue or not.  But during my first trip to a local motosports park in Colorado, I noticed fluid leaking from my rear differential. I ran it around the UTV track but not too aggressively in my mind.  But it was 30 degrees out.  I'm looking for advice. First, any thoughts on what may have caused this crack in the location in the pics.  Is this a fluke or a common CF moto issue.  I didn't see much on this forum so maybe not a systemic issue.  Is there anything I should do to mitigate this from happening again once I fix it. Second, I plan on attempting the repair myself.  I'm not any experienced mechanic but can do a fair amount and I will likely solicit a couple of more experience buddies.  I purchased a CFMoto service manual.  It has some good sections and some not so good sections.  I would put the rear gear case (I call it a Differential) in the latter category.  It looks possible to replace the outer housing by just dismantling the left side axle and swapping it out as is.  Yet should I take the rear diff out completely to do a full inspection? What should I be worried about with this repair work.  With respect to inspection, is there anything other than the obvious I should pay attention to?  I'll look for metal shavings in the oil or play in the gears or obvious wear on attach points. It's kind of a bummer that I ended up with something broke on my first outing, but oh well.  That's what comes with having fun sometimes.

I recently purchased used but low mileage 2018 Zforce 1000.  I live in Lyons Colorado.  I took it out for its trial run at IMI Motosports Complex in Dacono CO. Unfortunately, I already cracked the rear differential housing. I'll be posting some questions and request for advice in the fix it forum on this site. But for this post, I'm just a new guy on the block looking to have some fun in Colorado, Wyoming, Utah (Moab), and who knows where else.  I look forward to seeing others out on the trails.
