Where Did You Ride This Weekend? / Montana BDR
August 16, 2026, 09:59:30 AM
Did sections 3-5 of the Montana BDR (Butte to ST Regis) over the course of 4 days last week.

Day 1: Butte to Moose Creek campground which is about 20 minutes SW of Helena.
Day 2: Moose Creek to Lincoln. Stayed in a Hotel, ate at the Montanan Steakhouse (amazing), and toured Sculpture in the Wild.
Day 3: Lincoln to Seeley Lake. Short day of ~70 miles. Stayed in a cabin right on Seeley Lake. Ate good BBQ and had the minor RZR issue addressed at the Polaris dealer there. Their customer service was amazing!
Day 4: Seeley Lake to ST Regis. Long day of about ~130 miles. Rain had knocked down the dust and smoke so we could see the sights better.

All in all it was a beautiful trip that I'd reccomend to anyone.

Greetings! Looking forward to gleaning some knowledge from fellow owners.

I live in Western MT and have owned CFMoto since 2020 and have never had a problem with any of them. I currently have a Cforce 600 Touring. The only mods are a Vauhti Varikko stage 1 clutch kit, Traild brake pads which eliminate the noise that stock pads produce, and an Uni air filter which is a must in the dusty environments. I'm running Tusk Trilobite tires which perform well enough for me.

I rode sections 3-5 of the MT BDR last week with my dad, 2 brothers and my son. We were on a RZR trail (dad), Honda Rubicon 520 (brother), Suzuki DR 650 (brother), Polaris Sportsman 570 (son) and myself on my CForce. All machines not made by Polaris performed flawlessly and the Polaris issues were very minor. Riding a BDR on a ATV takes some planning because due to some highway sections. Good thing this is Montana where cops don't care about ATVs on the shoulder of a highway!

Riding on a bike is a lot more fun than an ATV so I decided I'm buying a bike so I can do more BDRs where the road sections aren't an issue. I considered the Honda CRF 300 Rally, KTM 390 Adventure, Suzuki DRZ, Royal Enfield Himalayan, and Ibex 450. They all have their pros and cons but I've decided on the Ibex 450 and will be picking one up next weekend.
