General Discussion / Oil Strainer
August 24, 2024, 04:09:35 PM
A question regarding oil screen... I'm sure this question has been asked before, but admittedly, I'm a little too lazy to do a thorough search of all posts. Mea Culpa! Anyway... getting ready for first oil change. I have a service manual that mentioned a 'screen' for oil. Picked up O-ring at dealer (the only place that seems to have them locally). Got oil and filter, but... can't figure out where the screen is supposed to go. This is a 2022 CForce 600. Dealer showed me a parts diagram that put the screen on 'top' of the filter. Bought one 'cause I wasn't sure. When I pulled the cover for the filter, no screen. Not sure if I actually need it, and if so where. I will say it was stupidly expensive. At this point, I'm just going to replace the filter unless I can figure out the screen thing.  Any pointers?
Another subject... Asked if CFMoto had recommendations regarding synthetic vs. 'Dino' oil. No comment. Don't think their parts guy really knew much. Not surprising these day. All these auto part places hire people that know nothing about motor vehicles. Guessing if I had a question about 'smart' phones, they'd be all over it. I think all us old f...kers are going to have to go back to work just to be able to help folks out.

CForce 600 , X6 / Rival Bumper Install
November 23, 2023, 07:15:48 AM
Attempted to install new Rival aftermarket front bumper on my 2022 CForce 600. Original bumper is tapered at the top to slide through the rubber isolators/deco plugs where it bolts at the top. Rival bumper is not. It's round. This causes the rubber to distort so it won't fit all the way in and properly align with bolt holes. Hoping somebody else may have installed one of these Rival bumpers and has come up with a work-around. Any help/suggestions appreciated. At this point, I think I may have to modify the rubber plugs, come up with some home grown solution, or just leave them off. I think the rubber plugs are mainly for looks, but also probably offer some isolation from vibration. Found the rubber plugs online, but they want $23 each. Hesitant to modify originals in case I want to re-install the original bumper and don't feel like spending $46+ on replacements. Thanks.
