I found them made out of aluminum and mixed metals both. I suppose the Chinese didn't want to spend too much on steel when they messed up my bike.

You've been very helpful. You told me something that gave me a hint to what those pieces are that came pouring out of my CFMOTO 500S engine. Very helpful. For the life of me I had never seen thread pieces come spitting out of a ATV, and I've worked on a few ATV and a ton of bikes, since I've been riding for 40 years and I'm now 54. LOL I've changed lots of oil, doing my own basic maint. I mean I don't get real deep, just enough to do the basic maint. You mentioned heli-coil. I have never seen someone screw up enough and need to use something like this.. NOW I HAVE! I get what these pieces are now, they are pieces of heli-coil. I have in all my years never seen anything as messed up as this from a company selling me a bike. I'm going to include pictures of the pieces which you will clearly see is the heli-coil they installed at the dealership or the factory.. Just wow.. Hey, I've seen worse. My new Ram 1500 truck made it home, pulled it into the garage and the gas tank, yea the fuel tank was nearly dragging on the ground. Yep, maiden voyage from the dealership and the tank was dragging on the ground.. They said kind of the same thing you did, when I brought it to their attention, someone must of touched it.. HOW FUNNY!! NOT FUNNY!

This is common? Och!  :( Well, This CFMOTO was purchased off the dealership showroom floor and it's always been in my possession. So the only one who touched this is the dealership and the only direction that plug turned was out, so it is a sad case that the plug was stripped most likely by the factory or the dealership. Sad case.

What happened to this? Did you get it fixed? I'm having the same issue with my CFMOTO 500S I know this has been out there a while but I too have an issue with my 2021 CFMOTO 500S with the first oil change. After pulling the drain plug on the first oil change a stream of metal bits came out of the engine. It was shocking. At first I was like what? I thought the engine had blown or something. What I found after draining the oil was the inter threads were coming out of the drain. Meaning some type of thread job had been done and that thread sleeve on the drain bolt was coming undone and out into my drained oil. Shocking. I've never seen anything like this with an ATV. This was the first oil change on the 500S. We just dropped it off at the dealership we purchased it from and they didn't give us any indication it would be covered under our extended warranty. We've got 20 hours on this thing and we don't use it much. Again the first time the plug was pulled. The damage is unbelievable for a bike we purchased 1 1/2 years ago and just did the first oil change.
