Did like you suggested. Heated it up and they came right out. Thank you again.

Hello. I figured it out. That back collar does not come off the shaft. I put it in my press and it punched the shaft and front collar right off. Now I'm having an issue getting the old bearings out. Any suggestions? I'm using a 12 ton press. Probably just to chicken to really crank on it😂. But I have a heck of a lot of pressure on the outer rings of the bearings and they aren't moving. I even sprayed them last night and today with PB Blaster.

I doubt that it will make a difference, but I'll send a close up picture today of the actual unit. I do appreciate your help though.

NMK thanks for the reply. I have the service manual with that pic, but you really can't tell what side is longer or shorter.

I was stupid tonight. My carriers bearing is making an awful noise and wobbled bad. Figured no big deal, I'll change the bearings in it. Got the entire drive shaft out. Took the front shaft off the carrier. Took back one off. No biggie. Put the carrier in my vice with plastic jaws. Took out snap ring on one side. Flip it over and take the other snap ring out. Took it out of the vise and was flipping it around to see how to get that press color off. That's when I messed up. That's when I notice that the distance from the inner end of the splines to the bearing has more shaft distance on one side than the other. I don't remember what direction was forward or backwards. Can any one help me out? Really appreciate it if so. Also, how do I get that press collar off? Just press it off when I'm pressing the shaft out of the bearings?
Thanks all

Introduce Yourself and Your Ride / New ride
April 23, 2017, 02:08:50 PM
Hey all. I acquired a 2016 400 series that was the first one I've ever had. I bought it on eBay for a very good price. 4wheel drive. Had a front compartment with a windshield on as well as a baggage setup on the rear. Had 85 miles on it. I've done some local field driving in northern Ohio but not a lot of places to ride. I just got back from Wayne national forest in southern Ohio. I put 220 miles on it. Only issue I found was the fuel gauge started blinking about 40 miles into the trip. I did hold my breath afraid I was gonna run out because my next Stop Was twenty miles away. I made it. When I went to put gas in it looked half full yet. Only took 1.6 gallons. But I had a great time. Did 56 miles in the dark. I'm going to Tennessee at the end of May for two weeks of backcountry riding/camping. Anyone know if there's a reserve switch for fuel?
Thanks

CForce 400/450 / CF 400S side cover removal?
January 08, 2017, 10:01:31 AM
I bought mine from a credit union that got it through a voluntary repo. The original owner had it for two weeks and died. Wife gave it back with 85 miles on it. He put a winch on it, but ran the wiring along the engine block and the exhaust. I want to reroute it, but it didn't come with any manuals or anything and I don't want to break anything. Any help would be appreciated.
