Hello all

stripped my front diff today and no damage apart from the loose bolts in the crownwheel which is lucky. does anybody know the correct torque for the new crownwheel bolts?? thanks

General Discussion / Zforce 800 EX- Front Diff

Hello

last week i spent 2 days going over my Z force 800. new belt, Dr Pulley weights, oil change, greased all points, and i changed front and rear diff oils, i used 85/140 Semi Synthetic because i thought it would help. the magnetic drain plug had quite a bit of debris on it maybe 1/8" thick
I have had the buggy a few months and haven't even needed to used 4x4 yet, i used it for work for 2 days which was 60 miles 3 weeks ago, but today on the road in 2wd i heard a loud bang bang bang. i stopped and the front diff side cover had a hole in it and all the oil was dripping out, i limped home, and found 1 crown wheel bolt smashed up and half out the hole, i removed this and turned the diff and the other 5 bolts where loose.. the 4x4 engage and diff lock are still operational. so maybe just a case of loose bolts???? the buggy has done 4000miles. and some evidence of hard off road use is noticeable on the under side. any ideas??? i have ordered a new cover and bolts but will see if it needs more when i remove it.. please can someone explain this problem or has it happened to you, surely this cant be the result of thicker oil.
