Thank You Doug,

I'll have to get my hands on a 32-Bit version of windows and try it out when I have time.

Thank You all for your help!

I didn't know there was two, but the one i found looked like the one from all the pictures with the red, green and purple wires.
I've searched things related to PC PDA and went through 14 pages of search results, but found no data on making my own PC PDA. Any suggestions?

Ok, I've found the diag port and followed the instructions. The light still flashes constantly with no sequence. The way I read it was to turn the ignition on wait after 2.5 seconds and short the green and purple wires, no change in the light.

I've tried also doing this with the kill switch in both positions and the light behaves the way it did before i shorted any pins.
I've also tried it with it shorted right from ignition on with the killswitch in both positions. Still no difference.

I've tried to reset procedure in that link as well and that did not have any effect either.

Any other suggestions? Or is it time I just shut up and drive it? lol.

Can anyone tell me where the plug is located? I've heard it's near the battery, and while my manual states the battery is in the front, it seems to be in the back. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Isn't that what i posted up at the top? I thought that was the way to jump it, but i didn't know what resistor to use.

I agree, mine does run fine otherwise. I am just trying to find out what parts to look at and identify the fault and where it is, which is why i was looking into getting the codes off it somehow. Any suggestions?

Yes, It does. It flashes as long as the UTV is running.

It also flashes even when sitting with key on and not running.

Thank you for the reply NMKawierider,

I've just tried this method and have gotten some odd results.

When I try it the way it is written, the MIL stops flashing as soon as I depress the kill switch.
When I flip the kill switch back on, the MIL will start flashing again forever.
When I turn the key on with the kill switch already depressed, the MIL will illuminate for 5 seconds and then turn off, but of course as soon as i flip the kill switch back on the MIL will start flashing constantly again.

Any thoughts?

Hello All,

I'm new to owning a 2016 CF500US, after reading the manual I've found that the MIL light is flashing constantly. It runs and drives fine, but i'd like to know what might be wrong. I've obtained a service manual thanks to this site, but I'm having some trouble understanding how to use the 3-wire connector to use "flash mode" to determine the issue code. It says there must be an LED hooked up after a resistor, but it doesn't state what the resistor load should be to bring the amperage down to .5 Amps or below. I will post the picture from the manual below for reference. Is this the only way to do it or am i going about this the hard way?
