So yesterday after riding for about 3 hours my 800 XC just died. wouldn't start, tried several times. sat for about 5 minutes and I removed the gas cap and it had a lot of pressure in the tank. Put the cap back on and it started right back up. Has anyone else had this problem? I don't think it should have had that much pressure in the tank. Surely the tank is vented somewhere. Seems like it vapor locked or something.

CForce 800 XC / Exhaust
April 30, 2024, 09:29:14 PM
Does anyone know if the exhaust from a force 1000 will fit a force 800xc. There is a nice exhaust system on eBay for a cforce 1000, the seller doesn't know if it fits the 800.

Found where the smoke was coming from. When the seal blew out it filled the belt housing exhaust tube that blows on the front cylinder exhaust with oil, after I cleaned out the belt housing when I replaced the seal I didn't think anything about that blower tube, today I was watching it run and it was blowing oil on the front cylinder exhaust pipe causing the smoke. I took the tube off and I bet there was 1/2 quart of oil in it. No more smoke now. I didn't think anything about that tube may have oil in it from the blown seal. Learned something.

The secondary clutch is set on the B1 position. That's the factory setting isn't it? There was oil in there again, the new seal isn't leaking so I'm not sure where it came from. Not a lot of oil , not like when the seal blew out but a little. The belt wasn't glazed at all , or oily. I am cleaning everything back up again with Lacquer Thinner and scotch briting all the sheaves. I'll put it back together and try it again. Wish me luck !!!

CF800 EX, I
the wet clutch was fried when I got it and I replaced all of the wet clutch assembly, all of the primary sheaves, bearings and seal , then the seal blew out and coated everything with oil so I had to buy another seal (oem one this time) and a new Gates G3691 belt. It had a Gates 3659 belt on it when I got it. Anyway I have had this thing for over 2 months and every time I ride it around the yard something else happens to it. I didn't touch the clocking on the secondary clutch, I think it was set on B2 but can't remember.
I'll try the lacquer thinner , the reason I didn't use any brake cleaner is the belt instructions said not to use brake cleaner. Thanks, I'll take it apart again.

Is some belt smoke normal on these machines? I just got it all back together with a new belt and made sure all of the pulleys were wiped down with scotchbrite and alcohol, and everything was spotless clean. Today after riding it around the yard a few times in low range when I stopped there was smoke coming out of the belt housing , smelled like rubber smoke. I let it cool off and took it out again and same thing,, not a huge amount of smoke but smoke non the less. Will it do this until the belt is broken in or do I still have something wrong? It has about 60 minutes of run time on it so far. After all of the work and new parts I put on it I'm pretty disappointed. If it's normal then I won't worry about it. I was planning on taking it to some trails this weekend but I don't want to get stuck way out in the middle of nowhere with a buggy that won't get me back. Any idea's?

Got my new Cmoto seal yesterday and put it in along with a new Gates belt. Cleaned all the oil off of the pulleys with alcohol and buttoned her back up . Seems to run and pull pretty good. This is really the first time I have gotten to ride it much since I bought it 4 weeks ago. Had to order all of the parts it needed from China,, or pay a lot more for them here. Seems to go good but that clutch sure is noisy when it's idling. But everyone seems to have the same noise. Gonna take it out to the trails this week and give her a workout.

Found the problem, the new seal in the case between the wet clutch and primary dry clutch failed and let oil into the dry clutch area. I noticed the seal fit kind of loose when I put it in. It wasn't a OEM CMoto seal.I bought it at Carquest when I bought the new bearings , they told me it was the cross reference and was the exact same thing but a National seal brand. They are wrong. I will order the CMoto OEM part this time. Now I have a lot of cleaning to do, and order a new belt.

Well, finally got all my new clutch parts, total new wet clutch, clutch housing and new bearings and new primary dry clutch and rollers. Got it all installed and took it for test ride ,, first couple rides around the yard went good but now the belt is slipping and slips bad enough to start smoking. Wonder what the problem may be? Everything is new except the belt but it looked good.

Finally received some of the parts I ordered, I got everything except the new case. When I put the new wet clutch on I have a question,, looking at the engine from the clutch side what way does the engine turn? clockwise? When I rotate the clutch housing with the one way bearing in it turns the engine when I roll it clockwise ,, freewheels when I roll it counter clockwise. Is my one way bearing in right?
Also when I removed the wet clutch I found a snap ring behind it that fell in the case. It looks like one of the snap rings that holds the wet clutch assembly together but they are all on there,, any ideas where this snap ring could have came from? The only other snap ring I see in the manual in this area is one on the oil pressure regulator but I don't know what size that one is or how it could have got off there.

I'm going to attempt to make one of those clutch holding tools while I'm waiting on my parts to arrive.. Anyone have any measurements on them?

Thanks for the reply,, mine doesn't have that line so it must be getting it's oil internally. There was very little oil in the case when I took it off, I expected to see oil run out of the case when I broke it loose. I have the complete wet clutch assembly ordered as I wasn't sure where my problem is. The case had been broken at some time and repaired so I ordered that also. The guy I bought his machine off of looked like he ran the crap out of it and did no maintenance or cleaning on it. Maybe where the case was broken something was out of alignment. The bearing race in the clutch housing for the one way bearing was also very rough as was the cover bearing. This is my first UTV and I'm learning about how everything works on them. All my other atv's all had auto trans or gears. The belt looks like it's pretty new. Hopefully with just about all of the clutch assembly getting replaced it will be ok. One more question,, should I soak the new wet clutch assembly in oil before installing it?

Well, I tore into the clutch of the 2015 zforce 800 I bought sat and really don't see anything bad wrong. The clutch housing is blue , assuming it's been hot. It also has pretty deep grooves in it. The clutch housing bearing feels a little tight also. Not knowing much about these things I decided to replace everything so I ordered the wet clutch assembly, a new clutch housing, bearing and seal, new rollers, and new pulleys. So most of the clutch will be new. It sounded like there were rocks in the clutch when it was running.
One thing I'm still not sure of is : when I took off the wet clutch case there was very little oil in there, everything was just barely wet,, does the wet clutch get it's oil from the engine or does the area where the clutch is have to filled with oil separately? If it gets oil from the engine I would think there would have been a lot more oil laying in there. Any ideas?

Hello all. Just bought a 2015 CFMoto zforce 800 today. Have been looking for several months and pulled the trigger on one. Got what I think was a great deal on it although it has a clutch noise (I think) the guy I bought it off of said it needs the clutch housing assembly , he thinks the shaft is bent and caused the cv cover bearing to go bad. He bought a new housing and bearing but still noisy. I'm tearing apart tomorrow to see what I can find. I have had several UTV's and these look like a good value for the money. Wish me luck!
