New to cfmoto

Hi
Just purchased a 22 800 trail new with 4yr warranty.  Also, 60" plow, superatv lower door panels, front & rear windows. And the ugly prefilter that hangs from the roll cage. I'm a big guy 6'1" and 220. I don't get in & out very easily.... It's more like putting it on and taking it off.  Going to have to raise the seats, thinking an inch and a half.  Using a couple of folded towels on the seat as a booster makes getting in & out much easier and a little more leg room.

So far so good... Have 20 miles on it plowing snow.  1st time I have used an ATV to plow snow, very surprising how good it does. At least with 3"ish of snow.  Always used a tractor (no cab) with a 7 ft blade.  If a serious snow fall hits I'm sure it will be 🚜 time again.

Should be lots of fun this summer. I can ride right from home and go about as far as you'd want to on a day ride.  Or I can trailer for an hour to the 50" trail heads.

Fyi. I am a radio hobbyist and a snowmobiler.  I have the snowmobile comms thing pretty well solved.  If you have questions about radio stuff I'll be happy to answer as best as I can.

2022 800 trail, blue, kfi 60" plow, satv widows and lower doors. Kwt separator, unifilter.

Moving to Arco, Id in April 2024... Should be something like utv heaven.

Here's some pics of the beast. Has 38 miles on it, all plowing snow.  Really am surprised with how well it plows.  I hate the jerky cvt engagement.   Got both windows and the lower doors installed.  That made a big difference in temp comfort while plowing, might even be warm enough (35° for a high) to go for a 10 - 15 mile ride this week.  It came with dealer installed Unifilter and a KWT separator.  The kwt mounting arrangement makes the rear window install interesting.  Dealer had it installed behind the passenger's right ear, screen facing forward.  In the pics it is off for the window install.  I intend to reinstall it high and and center and that requires larger bar clamps.

Really looking forward to warmer weather.
Thanks for all the welcomes!

Welcome to the forum. Good to see another Idahoan. Simply doesn't get any better than Idaho for UTV rides in God's Country.

I joined a Facebook group here in SW Idaho that is very good about having planned rides and meet ups. First ride with them was a 155-mile loop. Got to visit many places I have not seen before. The magic of UTVs.

Some are planning a late spring outing to St Anthony dunes. There was an East Idaho group that shared with our group about Secret Santa night light ride they do annually.

Anyhoos, welcome again and ride like the wind.

Ditch the Midlands....

I presume you are riding 1 up 4 wheelers?   There are some nice affordable and very effective radio choices.  On the high end, BTECH GMRS-PRO. $150 each. 5 Watt. Has GPS and location sharing via Bluetooth to your smartphone mapping app (free).  BT audio and programming/settings.  These will talk a few miles in varying terrain.  And no lie, 30 miles line of sight.  I have and use 3 of these.  Nearest thing to this one is the Garmin rhino at about $700.  The btech is a better radio than the Garmin.  Oh, there will soon be a Bluetooth speaker Mic for this radio.

Much less $ is the Radioddity GM-30 GMRS, 5 Watt. Front panel programming.  $27. I have 2 of these.
Both will talk the same distance, have FM brodcast, the pro has noaa and is water proof.  Both will work a repeater.  Both have USB-c charging and will last more than all day and extra batteries are readily available, as well as speaker mics.

Found a deal for you. You'll like these a lot better than the midland blister pack radios you've been using.  Preprogrammed for gmrs\frs.
