new 800 zforce EX owner,(maybe)
« on: January 24, 2021, 08:17:45 PM »
I'm a newbie here also but really like the looks of the cf moto sxs machines.I have been looking at them
from afar for a while now and have seen some grey 2020's which I thought was a nice looking machine.
I was told by a few dealers that there were no grey models available which confused me simply because I had already
seen them on market place.I did however find one at a dealer that clearly looks grey to me and even says grey
in the descrpition so i'm going to look at it this coming weekend weather permitting.
I have read several posts on the forum about the air filters needing to be changed from the get go which concerns me some.I ride the hatfield mccoy trails usually once a year which has some sand and depending on the weather can be down right dusty.

So,the machine I'm looking at is an 2020,zforce EX,so do I still need to change the air filter to begin with or has that problem been changed by cf moto at this time.
Please feel free to give advice .

ABSOLUTELY! Don't drive it at all with any of the stock filters..not even the foam filter. Get the Unifilter we recommend along with a quality foam filter specific oil and it's cleaner.

Welcome to the forum. I would follow the recommendations of NMKawierider should you purchase the new machine.

Where would I purchase a uni filter and foam filter from, don't suppose you can get them from a dealer.I have filter oil that i use for my honda rancher, any chance that oil would be ok to use on the foam filter.
Also are you saying to change the oil filter and oil too.

Thanks.

Many places including Amazon. The link below is for the UP6229ST, the one for the 800s. You will also need foam filter specific oil and it's cleaner. I use FAB-1 and will also post a link for that.

This set is good for about 5-6 cleanings.

Might ask your dealer to make installing one of these part of the sale. Many dealers are installing them anyway now.

I will get this stuff for it and change the filter out.
So should i also change the oil and filter before much riding also
even though it's brand new I don't know how long it's been at the dealership.
And since the air filter is somewhat low to the ground is putting the snorkel kit
on it a better option.

Oil should be OK. I would however change it once before the first scheduled change. On the intake, it's center between the seats but the grill you see is only the front side. The majority of it's air comes from behind the back plastics where all the dust is thrown at it from the rear wheels. It also gets all the hot air from the engine and the front exhaust which is just below it. Moving it is one of the things we all do however check with your dealer on effects it might have on warranty. Oh and it also has a prefilter bag over it that needs cleaned at times. Remove the push pins on the grill to get to it.

Went and looked at the 2020 800 Zforce EX yesterday the 29th in Lexington KY.
Brand new grey 800,so I went ahead and brought it home in Indiana.
Looking forward to getting use to it,however i haven't figured out how to adjust the seat
or the clock(time to get the book out) and I'm not an avid lover of cold weather but I'll ride it some i guess.

Congrats. The clock adjustment is in the owner's manual. As for the seat, lift the tab in the center back of the seat part, lift and remove the seat. Flip upside down and you will see four allen-headed bolts in slots. Loosen, slide all the way back, retighted bolts, reinstall seat.

I don't even remember the first time or first place I seen the CF MOTO Zforce but just really liked the looks
of them and it has been at least a couple of years since I've been looking at them and reading reviews on the forum
and on you tube.
I call it an early retirement gift to me so to speak.I also go to west virginia with a group from work and ride
the hatfield mccoy trails usually in september so this gives me plenty of time to get use to it and learn about it.

congratulation on your new machine,
surprised you found a a grey one, wonder if its because still a 2020 model, when we go ours the 2021 zforce 500 trail we could get in grey or orange, on the 2021 zforce 800 trail color options where orange, matte blue, or pearl white.
I'm also a newbie here, so also doing my fair share of learning about these machine. Hope yo get many years of enjoyment.

I was somewhat confused about the grey simply because i was told buy a couple of dealers you couldn't get a grey 800 ex  but I found at least a half dozen grey ones on marketplace and some were by personal ads.I also liked the lava orange and white but liked the grey the best.I do remember a grey 500 trail at the dealer too.

Gray was offered in 2015 and 2020 only as far as I know. I wanted a Gray when I bought mine but the dealer had none so I took the black.
